There's a hidden world between Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj, carved by thousands of years of alpine water rushing off the Julian Alps. Most travellers drive right past it. You're going in.

Canyoning is the purest way to experience a mountain river: sliding down natural rock chutes polished smooth by the current, jumping into deep emerald pools, abseiling beside waterfalls, and floating through narrow gorges where the light turns green above your head. Think of it as a natural water park, designed by nature and open only to those willing to get wet.

Complete beginners are welcome, and our guides have turned thousands of first-timers into canyon converts since 2004. After gearing up at our office in the centre of Bled (wetsuit, neoprene socks, canyoning shoes, harness and helmet all provided), we drive about 20 minutes to Grmečica canyon on the edge of Triglav National Park, one of the most scenic and dynamic canyons in Slovenia.

If conditions favour another canyon that day, we head to Jereka instead. Our guides read the water and choose the best canyon for a safe and unforgettable descent, every single day.

After a short safety briefing, the fun begins. Every jump and slide is optional and has a walk-around, so you choose your own level of adrenaline. Your guide leads the way, spots every move, and takes photos of you mid-jump so you can prove to everyone back home that you really did it.

We keep groups small, with a maximum of 8 guests per guide, because that's how adventure should feel: personal, unhurried, and full of laughter. It's the way we've run trips at 3glav Adventures for over 20 years.

The whole experience takes around 3.5 hours from Bled and back, with roughly 2 hours in the canyon.
