Activity itinerary
MONTERO HOUSE (Pass by)
Barcelona or Bilbao? It is true that at the sight of this pretty building our landmarks can be a bit disturbed. Considered one of the finest examples of Art Nouveau in the city, but the only one for residential use, Casa Montero very easily attracts attention.
Museum of Fine Arts of Bilbao (Pass by)
Minimalist yet so dear to Bilbao, the Museum of Fine Arts is one of the best leading cultural institutions in Spain. Founded in 1908, thanks to the sponsorship of local collectors, the property has occupied the grounds since 1945, after merging with the Museum of Modern Art.
Casilda Iturrizar parkea (Pass by)
Long considered the only true green space in Bilbao, Doña Casilda Iturrizar Park and its 11 hectares remain the city’s favourite outdoor destination. If this place was planned in the plan to expand Bilbao in 1876, its history did not really begin until 1907.
Palacio Euskalduna (Pass by)
Inaugurated in 1999, this building is considered one of the greatest contemporary works carried out by Spanish architects. Its structure, essentially composed of corten steel, would recall the shape of a boat in full construction.
Viaje por la Ria de Bilbao (Pass by)
Bilbao and the Ria River, it’s a bit like a couple storey. From its earliest origins, the capital of the Basque Country has always given a central role to the one that divides it in two today.
Viaje por la Ria de Bilbao (Pass by)
When we refer to Bilbao, we increasingly imagine a city at the crossroads of the old and the modern. On one side, we have the Old Town with its 16th century buildings, and on the other side the Ensanche district with its ever more avant-garde constructions.
Guggenheim Museum Bilbao (Pass by)
A sort of icon of contemporary aesthetics, the Guggenheim Museum has largely found its place in Bilbao, until it becomes an international reference that is no longer presented.
Zubizuri (Pass by)
It is tall, it is white and seems to float in the air. So, in a few words, the next Attraction of the visit makes its entrance. Opened to the public in 1997, the Zubizuri Bridge, to say the “White Bridge” in Basque, is a pedestrian walkway suspended 10 metres above the Ria River.
Isozaki Dorreak (Pass by)
Highly involved in the development of its contemporary architecture, Bilbao has been presenting more and more innovative constructions for some years now, in sharp contrast to the building of historic districts.
Concordia Enparantza (Pass by)
If Bilbao brings together three railway stations in total, it is only this one to mark our minds as beautifully. Inaugurated in 1902, Concordia Station turned the grey and industrial image of the city around for many years.
Arriaga Theater (Pass by)
In addition to being one of the most important symbols of Bilbao, Arriaga Theatre is also a particularly beautiful building. Its construction was carried out between 1886 and 1890 by the architect Joaquín de Rucoba, who was responsible for the Atarazanas de Malaga Point of Sale and its bullring.
Plaza Nueva (Pass by)
Nueva Square is a reference point in the historic centre of the city and has been one of the highlights of Bilbao’s social life since 1851. When the locals are not wandering the adjacent streets, this is where they like to take refuge and find themselves.
Txakurraren iturria (Pass by)
Located at the entrance to one of the narrowest streets of Bilbao, the Dog Fountain is one of the small curiosities of the Old Town. Previously, it was thanks to her that animals led to the Point of Sale quenched their thirst along the way.
Bilboko Donejakue Katedrala (Pass by)
In case you’re wondering what is the oldest monument in the city, know that the answer stands right before your eyes. The first origins of Santiago Cathedral date back to around 1300, when Bilbao was still only a fishing village.
Las 7 Calles (Pass by)
Whether you are told Casco Viejo or Siete Calles, the result is exactly the same. These two names are both used to designate the area we have brought you to, namely the heart of old Bilbao.
Erriberako merkatua (Pass by)
In Bilbao’s architectural journey, one could not fail to see the enormous grey and red building located on the banks of the Ria River. The La Ribera Point of Sale is an important commercial reference for the city and the region, with a history dating back to the 16th century, although its walls date back to 1929.
Museo de Reproducciones de Bilbao - Bilboko Berreginen Museoa (Pass by)
It is in the middle of the discovery of old Bilbao that our route crosses that of the old church of the Corazón de María, also known as the Museum of Artistic Reproductions.
Teatro Campos Elíseos Antzokia (Pass by)
Architectural pearls, we can confirm that Bilbao is not lacking, just by discovering the Campos Elíseos Antzokia theatre. An iconic and unparalleled city, this cultural address instantly marks the minds of anyone who crosses it.
Azkuna Zentroa (Pass by)
The Azkuna Zentroa is one of the biggest renovation projects that the Bilbao City Hall has been able to undertake. Initially, the land was occupied by several warehouses where more than one variety of wines were stored.
Bizkaia Enparantza (Pass by)
Since its complete metamorphosis in 2008, Plaza Bizkaia exhibits the modern face of Bilbao. The pergolas and side waterfalls, characteristic of the old square, were sacrificed in order to create a more open, comfortable and especially more accessible space for passers-by.
Federico Moyúa Plaza, 5 (Pass by)
Finding the Chavárri Palace in Plaza de Federico is like pointing your nose in the middle of the face. It’s impossible to walk around the perimeter without looking up at this eclectic building with such amazing architecture, but not exactly local.
