While this area is known for its limestone caves, it was also a major centre for iron ore extraction, reaching its peak in the 19th century. We’ll explore the impressive Rudice Sinkhole, the colourful Seč Quarry, and the remains of the Salm Ironworks, once a symbol of industrial innovation. Along the way, you'll learn about the ancient formation of this karst landscape, how vibrant sands appeared here, and how iron transformed both nature and history.
