Balestrand is a true Norwegian gem, known for its stunning natural beauty, and cultural attractions such as the Swiss-style wooden hotel Kviknes and the 17th-century St. Olav's Church. Balestrand is also home to the Norwegian Travel Museum, which tells the storey of how Norway became one of the world's most famous destinations, and local tasting experiences at the Cider House or the Bistro at Kviknes.
DEPARTURE
The tour starts at 07:30 from the Tourist Information in Bergen city centre.
FIRST STOP:
After about 1.5 hours, we will take a short break in Voss to pick up more travellers.
TVINDEFOSSEN
Around 09:20 we stop at the impressive waterfall. Here you will also find a souvenir shop.
Break at Vinje: Short stop at a petrol station by the river, a magical and peaceful little break, perfect for a cup of coffee and a trip to the bathroom.
Further into the mountains: We continue over the spectacular Vikafjellet mountain, where patches of snow often remain even in the middle of summer, a beautiful encounter with several seasons.
PHOTO STOP:
At approximately 10:40 AM we stop at the Storesvingen viewpoint, with a panoramic view down towards the charming village of Vik. Here you can get off the bus and take pictures.
ARIVAL IN VIK:
Here, a fjord cruise awaits, an experience that takes you close to the mighty nature of the area.
Boat trip to Balestrand, arriving at approx. 11:50.
BALESTRAND
When you arrive in Balestrand you have almost 5 hours to freely explore the village and its attractions, such as Cider tasting with lunch board , Norwegian Tourism Museum , Sognefjord Aquarium, St Olaf's Church etc.
BOAT BACK TO VIK
At 16:50 the boat leaves and the trip goes back to Vik from the quay in Balestrand. Meet in good time.
Departure from Vik:
At approximately 17:25 we will continue by bus from Vik, with a short photo stop at the beautiful HOPPERSTAD STAVE CHURCH. Note: we will not go inside the church.
RETURN TO BERGEN:
After dropping off passengers in Voss, we will be back in Bergen at approximately 20:35.
