Tour Details
Most people know Qing emperors lived in the Forbidden City, but few know their burial places. Departing from Beijing, this comfortable private day tour takes you to visit Western Qing Tombs in Yi County, Baoding City, Hebei Province. It houses four Qing emperors including Yongzheng, Jiaqing, Daoguang and Guangxu, together with numerous empresses, concubines and royal nobles, featuring delicate ancient architectures and profound historical culture.
Door-to-Door Transfer Service
We offer door-to-door pick-up and drop-off at hotels in city centre Beijing. A professional driver and bilingual tour guide will pick you up on time, confirm travel information and drive directly to the scenic area. The one-way highway ride takes 2.5 to 3 hours.
Upon arrival, the guide will handle all admission procedures and lead you to visit the scenic spot. You will first explore Tai Mausoleum, the largest core mausoleum built for Emperor Yongzheng. Walk along the grand sacred way, admire stone statues and ancient buildings, and learn about Qing imperial funeral rituals and royal history.
Then you will visit two featured mausoleums:

  1. Changxi Mausoleum: Famous for its Whispering Wall, a marvellous acoustic ancient architectural wonder;
  2. Chong Mausoleum: The last imperial mausoleum of China’s feudal dynasties for Emperor Guangxu and Empress Longyu. Its underground palace is open to tourists for in-depth late Qing history exploration.
    Your guide offers professional commentary throughout the trip. You can take photos freely, wander around and adjust your tour pace at will.
    Gather at the designated spot after sightseeing and head back to Beijing by car, enjoying natural scenery of Taihang Mountains along the route.
    You will be dropped off at your designated location in city centre Beijing, marking a pleasant end of this private day tour.
