Its name was given due to the similarity of the towers at the summit to a Gothic cathedral. During the winter season, its Antonio M. Lynch winter sports centre hosts national and international skiing and snowboarding events, including competitions for professionals and amateurs, as well as other snow-related disciplines.

This ski centre has all the necessary infrastructure and services that put it on a par with the most famous ski slopes in Europe. From the base, there are various lifts that lead to different platforms, which have cafes and restaurants to meet all needs. The entire descent can be done by skiing (during the winter season) on the different slopes, by cable car, or by chairlift. During the other seasons of the year, some lifts are not active, but this mountain becomes a perfect setting for outdoor walks and trekking.
