Get ready for a day in the sun-kissed Palatinate that goes far beyond a typical wine tasting. From the monumental remains of the Romans to the largest wine barrel in the world, we combine moderate hiking with top-quality culinary delights and the region's most spectacular viewpoints. Discover 4 hand-picked wines from award-winning, top-tier wineries and premium organic quality right where the grapes are grown. We will immerse ourselves in the heart of the German Wine Route, combining culture with physical activity.
Your day begins right on location in Bad Dürkheim. We will start as a small group of no more than 12 participants at the Riesenfass, the world's largest wine barrel. Afterwards, we will breathe in the therapeutic sea breeze at one of the longest open-air inhalation facilities in Germany. We will then continue through the spa park into the town centre to the Römerbrunnen fountain. After a lunch break that you can spend as you wish, we will set off on a roughly two-hour hike through the vineyards. As we walk among the almond trees, we will taste two premium wines from an award-winning local winemaker. Afterwards, we will take a short hike to the historic Kriemhildenstuhl, a rock formation featuring ancient Roman inscriptions. For the grand finale, we will hike to the “Kaffeemühlchen” (flag tower). There, a hearty Palatinate snack and an exclusive tasting of two organic wines from a renowned winery await you.
With unforgettable memories in tow, we will comfortably take you back to your starting point.
