On a short walk along the historic graduation house, you will breathe in the soothing, salty breeze and learn why this structure is also known as the “Balcony of the Palatinate.” Right next door, a true monument awaits you: the world-famous Dürkheim Giant Barrel. You will learn the quirky history of this architectural wine monument, which has room for an entire restaurant.

After this history-steeped start, we leave the city behind and set off on a fantastic panoramic drive along the Southern Wine Route. The route takes us past gentle vine-covered hills and idyllic wine-growing villages to Edenkoben. Near the royal Villa Ludwigshöhe, we will change modes of transport: The historic Rietburgbahn will take us on a relaxed, gliding ride on the chairlift up to the historic ruins of Rietburg Castle. Once you reach the top, every connoisseur's heart will beat faster. At the traditional Rietburg mountain restaurant, you can indulge to your heart's content. As you savour hearty Palatinate specialities and a good glass of wine, the entire Rhine plain lies at your feet on the spacious outdoor terrace. With this breathtaking panoramic view, you can unwind before we embark on a leisurely return journey together in the afternoon after hours full of experiences.
