What you can expect
Venture to some of the most beautiful and remote areas in Kauai for breathtaking scenery and backcountry mountain tubing. As your knowledgeable guide shares stories of the island's history, sit back, relax and float down a century-old waterway made of open ditches, tunnels and flumes.
Arrive at the former Lihue Plantation to find a water system designed and hand-dug by plantation workers in 1870. After closing the 17,000-acre plantation, some of the waterways were converted into intricate countryside tubing networks to be enjoyed by adventure seekers from around the world.
When you’re ready, don a headlamp and grab an inner tube for a ride full of tunnels, “splash zones” and a lazy river. As you gently float on your inner tube through the canals, soak in views of waterfalls, coastline, lush mountainsides, and deep-green valleys. Hear stories of the plantation’s history and learn about Kauai's Mount Waialeale, one of the wettest spots in the world.
After your 3-hour journey along the tropical waterway, enjoy a picnic lunch in the shade and play a few fun outdoor games like cornhole and horseshoes.
