Begin with a pickup from Auckland (CBD or accommodation) in a comfortable private vehicle with commentary. Travel through lush countryside and coastal landscapes, with photo stops along the way.

Arrive at Muriwai Beach and walk to the iconic gannet colony lookout. Observe hundreds of seabirds nesting (seasonal: Aug–Mar best) and learn about their migration and behaviour. Explore the dramatic black sand beach, with time for photos and short walks.

Next, visit a boutique vineyard in the Kumeū wine region. Enjoy a guided wine tasting session and relax in a setting overlooking the vineyards. You can also opt to enjoy lunch or a platter (own cost).
