Tilicho Lake (4919m) is known for being the highest lake in the world and is located in Manang District of Nepal in the Annapurna region. Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar (760m/2493ft)change locak jeep to Chame

Chame

You will take a drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar.The route will go along the Kathmandu-Pokhara Highway to Dumre that will further follow the narrow and paved road by the Marsayangdi River and reach Besisahar. From here,you will get an opportunity to witness the snow-capped mountains like Annapurna II (7937m) and Machhapuchhre (6997m) and beautiful landscapes. Additionally, you will get a chance to experience the lifestyle, culture, and traditions of locals living in the Besisahar. then change to local jeep and drive to Chame village

Day 2: Trek Chame to Pisang (3100m/10171ft)

Pisang

You will continue your trek through the deep forest in a narrow and steep valley crossing two bridges, one at 2,910 metres and another at 3,040 metres. You can view beautiful snow-capped Lamjung Himal (6983m) and other mountains. Further, you will follow the trail to climb to Pisang and after some rest, you can visit the monastery and get a beautiful view of Annapurna II (7937m).

Day 3: Trek Pisang to Manang (3540m/11614ft)

Manang

You'll start your ascent on a steep ridge that offers stunning vistas of Manang Valley and Tilicho Peak, which stands at 7,134 metres. As you descend through Humde, Manang's airstrip at 3,280 metres, you'll catch a glimpse of the northeast face of Annapurna III, which stands at 7,555 metres. Continuing on foot, you'll soon be treated to a breathtaking view of Annapurna IV, which reaches 7,525 metres. After crossing a wooden bridge over the Marsayangdi Khola, a short but steep climb will bring you to Manang.

Manang

Today is a rest day for you to adjust to the higher altitude. Manang, despite being a remote location, is a sizable village. Take the opportunity to explore the village and engage with the locals. Observe their way of life, ancient culture, and traditions. If you have time, visit the stunning Gangapurna Lake. You will spend the night at a guesthouse upon your return.

Day 5: Trek Manang Village to Khangsar Village (3734m/12251ft)

Khangsar

Today, you will continue your journey by following the path that leads to the river. You will cross Khangsar Khola by crossing a bridge and then ascend the slope to Khangsar Village. This village is a typical Tibetan-style settlement and is also considered the last village of Nepal. You will stay overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 6: Trekking Khangsar to Tilicho Base Camp (4150m/13615ft)

As you embark on your trek, you'll come across a Gompa and follow a newly constructed trail up towards a high ridge. At this point, you'll notice two routes - an old and challenging one, and a newer, easier option. Opt for the latter and continue until you reach the crest, then descend along steep slopes to a side valley. Your destination for the night will be Tilicho Base Camp.

To make the most of your trek, it's best to start early in the morning to avoid the strong winds that tend to pick up later in the day due to the mixing of warm land and cold air. The journey from Base Camp to Tilicho Lake will take approximately 3 to 4 hours, but the stunning views of the cold and remote lake are well worth it. After taking in the breathtaking scenery, you can make your way back to Base Camp where you'll spend the night.

Day 8: Trek Tillicho Base Camp to Yak Kharka (4050m/13287ft)

To reach Yak Kharka, you'll need to descend slowly from Tilicho Base Camp and climb 500 metres. As you make your way through Tengi, you'll leave behind the Marsayangdi Valley and head towards the Thorung Khola. After that, you'll reach Yak Kharka, where you'll encounter herds of yaks and notice the vegetation becoming scarce.

Day 9: Trek Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi (4525m/14845ft)

Start your day with a satisfying breakfast, then begin your ascent towards a ridge before gradually descending towards the Kone River. Upon arrival, cross the river via a wooden bridge and continue on a narrow trail that leads to a short ascent on the right. Today, you have a long trek ahead of you to reach Muktinath. The journey will begin early in the morning, and you'll make your way to the Thorang La Pass. The high altitude and extreme snow can pose some challenges, but your experienced guide will be there to assist you. As you reach the pass, you'll see Chortens and colourful prayer flags. After continuing your walk for around four hours, you'll arrive at Muktinath, a renowned holy site for Hindu Pilgrims. Hundreds of pilgrims from around the world visit this place every year. While you're there, be sure to check out the Jwala Mai Temple, which features a beautiful natural spring and a permanent flame fuelled by natural gas.

Jomsom

To reach Jomsom, you can follow the trail of Kagbeni or Lupra. Your trek will take you along the banks of the Kali Gandaki River. Jomsom is a picturesque and chilly valley with plenty of amenities. It serves as the headquarters of the Mustang district. While in Jomsom, you'll be treated to stunning views of Mt. Tilicho (7,134 m).
