You’ll walk inside Slanic Prahova Salt Mine, largest one in Romania and Europe. One of the three layers is currently open to the general public, being used as a leisure place, with playgrounds, a buffet, sports fields and a sanatorium, the saline microclimate being a natural means of treating respiratory ailments. . At a depth of 208m (682 feet), it was opened for visitors after 1970. The galleries have an opening at the base of 32 metres, and a height of 55 metres. The ventilation of the mine is natural, with a constant temperature throughout the year of 12 degrees Celsius. It’s absolutely the most fascinating immersive experience in Romania. Salt mines have a rich history that dates back centuries. They were not only important for salt production but also served as crucial economic and cultural centers. Exploring these mines allows visitors to delve into the past and learn about the significance of salt in various civilisations.

Brebu Monastery is one of the most important architectural achievements of Romanian art in the 17th century. Is currently preserved in its initial form, being one of the few Romanian medieval monuments that is significantly preserved. In the medieval period, Wallachia was constantly attacked by Turks, Tatars and its neighbors, Moldova and Transylvania. Thus, the monastery has been fortified since its construction, with defence walls and a watchtower. And it still retains that air of a fortress. Being at the base of the mountains, the setting is enchanting, an invitation to peace and meditation.
