Experience the World's Northernmost Igloo Hotel
Every year experienced artists and builders come together to build a new and unique hotel with a special theme. The Igloo Hotel has an area of 2,500 m2 and it takes 250 tonnes of ice and 7,000 m3 of snow to build it. The ice is harvest from Sierravann, which is only a few kilometres further into the Alta Valley from Igloo Hotel, and we the snow produce using the water from the famous Alta River located only metres away from the hotel.
The Igloo Hotel is rebuilt every winter, featuring a blend of unique igloo rooms and themed suites. Each suite is a one-of-a-kind creation, handcrafted by our skilled ice sculptors. From the intricate ice carvings to the thoughtful design, every detail is carefully made to offer a memorable Arctic stay. Snowshoeing in Alta offers a serene, immersive Arctic experience, allowing participants to traverse untouched powder in dramatic landscapes of snow-covered mountains. It is an accessible, low-impact activity that provides a unique, quiet way to explore Arctic scenery.
Treks take place in breathtaking, quiet, white landscapes, in pine forests.
