Your visit to the Aggstein castle ruins starts right at the castle complex high above the Danube. You can easily get here by car, and there's a car park right in front of the castle. Alternatively, marked hiking trails lead from the Wachau up to the castle ruins.
After entering, you can move freely through the entire, publicly accessible castle area. The tour isn't timed and ends at the exit in the courtyard area. During your stay, you can explore the castle courtyards, battlements, viewpoints, and historical areas on your own. Audio guides are available on site and will inform you about the history of the castle. In the courtyard, the castle innkeeper Siegfried invites you to stop by during opening hours.
You can also choose to add an outdoor escape room to your visit, which takes place within the complex and uses the historic setting for an exciting puzzle experience.
The visit ends at the castle exit, from where you can go directly to the car park or continue your hike.
