The ancient city Taroudannt is protected by ramparts built in adobe of ochre colour constitu-ting a wall full of history.

The structure of its walls was evolved under the different dynasties that once reigned in Morocco: the Almohads, the Merinides and especially the Saadians. The ramparts encircling the city make about 8Kms long counting 130 towers and 19 bastions of connected corners.
The ramparts include 5 gates to the city: Bab Al Kasbah, Bab Zorgan, Bab Targhount, Bab Oulad Bounouna, Bab Al Khemis. And to cope with the increased population, and traffic and traffic, new doors were built in recent years like: Bab Leblalia, Bab Ben Yara, Bab Agafay, Bab El Hajr (Bab Jdid) … etc.
30 km from Taroudant, the landscapes of Tiout are breathtaking. A village, overlooking a splendid palm grove, welcomes you in the middle of it.
