What you can expect

Day 1: Arrival in Lhasa (3,650m)

  • Arrival at Lhasa Gonggar Airport
  • Receive a warm welcome by our Tibetan representative with traditional Hada scarf
  • Transfer to hotel in Lhasa (drive time: approx. 1 hour)
  • Enjoy views of the Yarlung Tsangpo (Brahmaputra River) and Lhasa River
  • Rest to acclimate to Lhasa’s high altitude
  • Overnight at hotel in Lhasa

Day 2: Monastery Tour – Drepung & Sera Monasteries (B, D)

  • Altitude: Around 3,650–3,700 metres
  • Drepung Monastery: Once home to over 10,000 monks
  • Explore Coqen Hall and Loseling College
  • Visit monks’ dormitories to see their daily living conditions
  • Sera Monastery (afternoon): Witness the famous monks’ debate (3:00–5:00 PM)
  • Learn how monks practice philosophy through dynamic, traditional debating
  • Overnight at hotel in Lhasa

Day 3: Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple & Barkhor Street (B)

  • Potala Palace: Iconic symbol of Tibet and winter home of the Dalai Lamas
  • View gilded stupas, meditation cave of the 33rd king, and Tibetan treasures
  • Visit Longwangtan Park for a peaceful view of the palace
  • Jokhang Temple: The holiest temple in Tibet, housing the statue of 12-year-old
    Buddha Sakyamuni
  • Barkhor Street: Walk the kora path with pilgrims, explore the local market
  • Visit a local tea house, sip sweet Tibetan tea, and discover daily Tibetan life
  • Overnight at hotel in Lhasa

Day 4: Departure from Lhasa

  • Morning transfer to Lhasa airport
