Mount Etna, at a height of 3,320 metres, is the largest active volcano in Europe. On this 6-hour trip you’ll explore both the volcano and the surrounding area.
Following a pick-up at your accommodation, you’ll travel to Monti Rossi, the location of a huge volcanic eruption in 1669. See the stone quarry formed by lava eroding the rock.
Continue to Crateri Silvestri, at 2,000 metres, where you’ll take a short, moderate hike. Then put on your helmet and grab a torch to explore a lava tube – an activity that is comfortable for beginners.
Stop at the site of Etna's 1992 eruption, where you’ll have the opportunity to taste seasonal local products before visiting the village of Zafferana, for lunch (not included in the tour price).
