On this 4-hour guided city tour, you’ll explore both the lively capital Praia and the historic town of Cidade Velha, Cape Verde’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your experience begins in Praia’s Plateau district, where colonial architecture, monuments, and the local markets reveal the city’s vibrant daily life. Stroll through colourful streets, take in panoramic views, and discover landmarks that showcase Cape Verde’s blend of African and European influences.

From there, journey to Cidade Velha, the birthplace of Cape Verdean culture. Walk along its cobbled streets, including the iconic Banana Street — the very first street built in Cape Verde — and learn about the island’s past as a hub of the transatlantic trade. Visit the impressive Fortaleza Real de São Filipe, the old Cathedral ruins, Pelourinho Square with its historic pillory, and charming old churches that echo centuries of history.

Your knowledgeable guide will share stories that bring both cities to life, from traditions and local customs to the struggles and resilience of the Cape Verdean people.
