The Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum, also known as Chongqing Museum, is one of China's largest thematic museums. Located opposite the Chongqing People's Hall in Yuzhong District, it serves as a cultural hub dedicated to preserving the heritage of the Three Gorges region and Chongqing’s 3,000-year history. The 1949 Grand Theatre in Chongqing is dedicated to the immersive red-themed stage play Chongqing·1949. Set on the eve of Chongqing’s liberation in 1949 and centred in Ciqikou, the show weaves parallel storylines: the fates of three brothers with conflicting ideals, the unyielding spirit of revolutionaries imprisoned in Zhazidong and Baigongguan, underground Party rescue efforts, and hope for the future. It features a world-first 360° rotating stage and dynamic audience seats, paired with cutting-edge sound, lighting, and special effects. Actors perform around the audience, creating a fully immersive experience that makes viewers feel transported to 1940s Chongqing. Lasting about 70 minutes, the production blends historical pathos with innovative stagecraft, vividly recreating the city’s revolutionary spirit
