Mikumi National Park is Tanzania’s fourth–largest National Park and the most accessible from Dar es Salaam. Within its 3230 sq km. It’s set between the Uluguru Mountains to the north and the Lumango Mountains to the south-east. Mikumi hosts buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, lions, pythons, zebras, leopards, crocodiles and many more just to mention a few

DAY 1: Zanzibar to Mikumi National Park (Ferry + SGR Train)

Pick up from your hotel in Zanzibar and transfer to the ferry terminal for the morning boat to Dar es Salaam. The ferry ride takes 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Upon arrival in Dar es Salaam, you will be picked up from the ferry and driven to the SGR station to board your train to Morogoro. The SGR ride takes approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes.

From Morogoro, you will continue by road to Mikumi National Park, which is approximately a 2-hour drive. Stop in Morogoro for lunch and proceed to Mikumi National Park. On arrival in the park, you will immediately visit the Maasai Boma. After your visit, you will be brought back to the camp for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive – Mikumi National Park

After breakfast, we start on a full-day game drive to spot animals in Mikumi National Park. One of Mikumi’s features is that it’s stretched across a big plain, so you have the ability to spot a lot of animals. Mikumi National Park hosts animals like lion, elephant, buffalo, impala, zebras, and many other wild animals.

Enjoy your lunch at the picnic campsites in Mikumi National Park. Head to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay at Camp Lilac Mikumi.

Full Day Game Drive (game viewing) at Mikumi National Park (safaris)

Day 3: Mikumi National Park to Zanzibar (SGR + Ferry)

We will have an early breakfast, and afterwards, our driver will take us to Morogoro SGR Station for our train to Dar es Salaam (1 hour 40 minutes).

Upon arrival in Dar es Salaam, our driver will transport us from the station to the ferry terminal for our boat back to Zanzibar (1 hour 30 minutes), or to your hotel/airport depending on your travel plans.
