Stop 1: Breakfast & Departure 07:00 – 07:45 | Time: 45 minutes We rise with the Karoo sun and enjoy a hearty breakfast at our accommodation before loading up for the most scenically diverse day of our entire journey. Today we leave the dramatic Karoo behind and descend into the lush, green, ocean-kissed world of the Garden Route — one of the most celebrated coastal drives on the planet. Settle in, charge your camera, and prepare to be completely overwhelmed by the beauty of what lies ahead.

Stop 2: Outeniqua Pass — Gateway to the Garden Route 08:45 – 09:00 | Time at stop: 15 minutes We begin our dramatic descent over the magnificent Outeniqua Pass — a breathtaking mountain crossing that marks the transition from the dry Klein Karoo into the lush, green Garden Route below. As we wind our way down through the Outeniqua Mountains, the views are jaw-dropping — layers of mountain ridges, ancient indigenous forest, and the distant glimmer of the Indian Ocean stretching to the horizon. We make a scenic stop at the summit viewpoint — one of the most photographed spots on the entire Garden Route — before continuing our descent into George. Stop 3: George — Coffee & Garden Route Welcome 09:00 – 09:15 | Time at stop: 15 minutes We make a brief stop in George — the vibrant capital of the Garden Route and one of South Africa's most charming small cities. Nestled between the Outeniqua Mountains and the Indian Ocean, George is surrounded by world-class golf courses, indigenous forests, and pristine beaches. We stretch our legs, grab a coffee at one of George's excellent local cafés, and breathe in the fresh Garden Route air — a welcome contrast to the dry Karoo we left behind this morning.

Stop 4: Wilderness — Where Forest Meets the Sea 09:15 – 09:45 | Time at stop: 30 minutes We arrive in the magical village of Wilderness — and the name says it all. This is where the Garden Route truly reveals its soul. Towering indigenous forests, pristine golden beaches, tranquil lagoons, and winding rivers all converge in one extraordinary place. We take a leisurely walk along the famous Wilderness Beach — a long, sweeping stretch of golden sand where the Touw River meets the Indian Ocean in a breathtaking natural spectacle. Your guide points out the famous Swartvlei Lagoon — the largest natural inland lake in South Africa — shimmering alongside the road. We take a brief stop to stretch, breathe in the lagoon air, and perhaps grab a local snack before continuing our journey towards the dramatic landscapes of Knysna. Framed by the iconic Knysna Heads — two dramatic sandstone cliffs that guard the entrance to the lagoon — this is a town of extraordinary beauty, rich culture, and world-class food. We stop for lunch at one of Knysna's legendary waterfront restaurants on the famous Knysna Quays — fresh oysters, grilled fish, and local craft beer with a view of the lagoon. After lunch, we take a short walk along the waterfront, browse the local craft markets, and soak in the extraordinary atmosphere of this iconic South African town. Stop 8: Bloukrans Bridge & Tsitsikamma — Choose Your Adventure 14:40 – 16:40 | Time at attraction: 2 hours We arrive at the dramatic Bloukrans River Gorge on the edge of the ancient Tsitsikamma forest — and your group splits into two world-class adventures. Thrill seekers — step to the edge of Bloukrans Bridge, the world's highest commercial bungee jump at 216 metres above the gorge floor. Your heart pounds, the wind rushes up from below, and then — you jump. The jump lasts seconds — the feeling lasts a lifetime. Prefer solid ground — cross the legendary Storms River Suspension Bridge inside Tsitsikamma National Park. This swaying walkway hangs above the thundering Storms River Mouth where the river crashes into the Indian Ocean through ancient yellowwood forest. Raw, wild, and breathtaking. Stop 9: Scenic Coastal Drive — Nature's Valley to Plettenberg Bay 16:40 – 17:10 | Time: 30 minutes scenic drive We reunite as a group and begin our final coastal drive of the day. We pass through the breathtaking Nature's Valley — a tiny, unspoiled village nestled between ancient forest and a pristine beach that many consider the most beautiful in South Africa. The road winds through towering indigenous forest, past dramatic coastal cliffs, and along stretches of coastline so wild and untouched that it feels like the rest of the world simply does not exist. As the sun begins its descent towards the horizon, we arrive in the magnificent Plettenberg Bay.

Stop 10: Check-in Plettenberg Bay 17:10 – 17:40 | Time: 30 minutes (then free evening) We arrive in beautiful Plettenberg Bay and check in to your accommodation for the evening. The evening is yours to explore. Stroll along the famous Central Beach as the sun sets over the bay, browse the vibrant local restaurants and bars along Main Street, or simply sit with a glass of South African wine and watch the stars appear over the Indian Ocean. Your guide will recommend the best local restaurants, hidden gems, and evening spots before wishing you a wonderful night. Rest well — tomorrow we head into the African bush for a Big 5 safari that will take your breath away. Stop 2: Scenic Drive — Garden Route to Mossel Bay 07:15 – 08:30 We cruise westward along the N2, passing through the lush Garden Route landscape — dense indigenous forest, glimpses of the Indian Ocean, and the dramatic Outeniqua Mountains in the distance. Our guide shares fascinating stories about the region's history, ecology, and wildlife as we make our way towards Mossel Bay. Arrival at Botlierskop: 08:30

Stop 3: Botlierskop Private Game Reserve — Big 5 Morning Safari 08:30 – 11:00 | Time at attraction: 2 hours 30 minutes We arrive at the magnificent Botlierskop Private Game Reserve — one of South Africa's premier Big 5 safari destinations. Set against dramatic mountains and sweeping valleys, Botlierskop is home to lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, leopard, giraffe, zebra, hippo, and over 300 bird species. We board an open safari vehicle with an expert game ranger and head into the bush. The golden morning light is perfect for photography, and the animals are at their most active. We track lion through golden grass, watch elephant families move across the plains, and hold our breath as white rhino graze metres from our vehicle. Stop 5: Scenic Drive — Mossel Bay → Swellendam → Cape Town 12:00 – 16:30 | 305 km | 3h 20min We hit the N2 westward through the beautiful Overberg region — rolling wheat fields, dramatic mountain passes, and the charming town of Swellendam.
