One of our friendly and knowledgeable guides will take you from Newcastle Castle along to Monument before stopping at St Andrews, Newcastle's oldest church, past the formidable town walls taking in Friaries, merchant houses, markets, before finishing at the imposing Black Gate - the gatehouse of Newcastle's Castle.

From here you will be free to explore the amazingly preserved remains of the Black Gate and Castle Keep for yourselves - tickets are included in the price of the tour at a significant discount. Don't have time to explore Newcastle Castle after your tour? Don't worry! Your return ticket is valid for 48 hours after your tour!

Your costumed guide will meet you at the lamppost between the Black Gate and Castle Keep buildings in the Castle Garth, to kick off your tour with the storey of the Roman fort Pons Aelius and the origins of settlements along the River Tyne.
Grey's Monument
