Located on the central coast of Vietnam, Hoi An is a charming, colourful, lively town that\u2019s a must-visit for anyone travelling to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expedia.co.nz\/Vietnam.d194.Destination-Travel-Guides?brandcid=blog.hoian.sophiechan_111116\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vietnam<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Getting there<\/h2>\n<p>Unless you\u2019re travelling through Vietnam by road, to get to Hoi An it\u2019s best to fly into the closest airport, Da Nang. You\u2019ll then need to take a taxi journey (Approx. $25-$30 on the meter), 30km down the coast to reach this enchanting town.<\/p>\n<h2>Where to stay<\/h2>\n<p>We stayed at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expedia.co.nz\/Hoi-An-Hotels-AnantaraHoi-An-Resort.h1522052.Hotel-Information?brandcid=blog.hoian.sophiechan_111116\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Anantara Hoi An<\/a> which is located almost in the centre of it all. It\u2019s a relaxing sanctuary with colonial vibes, an amazing buffet breakfast and a luxe outdoor pool area for lazy afternoons. It\u2019s all in the details here\u00a0\u2013\u00a0handwritten notes on your bed, daily local fruit trays accompanied by a guide on how to enjoy each type, two room turn overs a day, lullabies left each evening and house made cookies. The Anantara is within walking distance of shops, restaurants and tailors, and they provide you with many activities to keep your days busy \u2013 cooking classes, bikes to ride through the rice paddies and sunset riverboat trips.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If there is one place in the world that I\u2019ve been to that most resembles a storybook town, Hoi An is it.
