Having grown up in Brisbane, for me the Gold Coast was one of the places we visited all the time for some family fun. As an adult I realise how lucky I am to have lived my whole life near one of the most amazing destinations in the world, but as a kid I had no idea. It doesn’t matter how many times I visit the Gold Coast, each time I\u2019m once again blown away by how amazing it is. Since having kids, it\u2019s become a frequent holiday destination. There\u2019s just so much to do and the kids always have a blast.<\/p>\n

Based on the experiences from when I was young and now with my own family, here\u2019s my Gold Coast Guide for families:<\/p>\n

Amazing Playgrounds To Visit<\/h2>\n

There are some pretty amazing outdoor playgrounds on the Gold Coast and we\u2019ve found our kids love going to them as much as other attractions with a higher price tag.<\/p>\n

A few of the best places to play include:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0Broadwater Parklands, Southport<\/a>:\u00a0<\/strong>This parkland is just a short 5 kilometre drive north of Surfers Paradise and goes on for a three kilometres stretch along the foreshore of Southport.\u00a0This playground has heaps of different play equipment options for the kids \u2013 bike tracks, a jumping pillow, flying fox, seesaw, scooter track and lots of general play equipment. There\u2019s sure to be something for every little one! There\u2019s also a patrolled section of Broadwater beach in high season where the kids can safely swim.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0Kurrawa Pratten Park, Broadbeach<\/a>:\u00a0<\/strong>This is another fantastic playground for kids. Plenty of grass for kicking a ball plus two main playground areas makes it a popular choice. It also has great slides, swings, climbing equipment, a flying fox and lots of fun. The park is also right on the beach and has fantastic BBQs and picnic areas.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0Pirate Park, Palm Beach Parklands<\/a>:\u00a0<\/strong>This park is one of the most amazing parks on the Gold Coast. It\u2019s themed around a pirate ship and is a pretty sweet setup if I say so myself. There are tunnels, slides and climbing equipment, all right near Currumbin Cove.It also has BBQ and grass areas if you\u2019re keen to stay for lunch.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
