Grab a grassy seat at the top of the hill at Gas Works Park for one of the best views of Seattle. Perfect for July 4th fireworks viewing, sailboat spotting, or picnicking and cloud gazing.
The colorful Frank Gehry-designed building in the shadow of the Space Needle is the Experience Music Project, a museum dedicated to music history and science fiction. Though the museum itself doesn’t have any particular significance to the Seattle grunge era, it does house some pretty fantastic memorabilia.

This is the 'famous' lighthouse at Discovery Park. This park is about 15-20 mins from Seattle (city) and is a great place for a short hike if you just want to get away from the city for an hour or two! There are a couple of hiking routes to pick from and they are all very basic/non-strenuous. Make sure to park right near the entrance though because you can't park near to the lighthouse itself, which is at the furthest edge from the entrance, unless you have a permit.
