Rooms are getting old and need upgrading

Clean and spacious suite with friendly staff. As an improvement, the breakfast could include local fruits.

Housekeeping very friendly always ready to help. They made sure they got me afresh fruit plate every day as they knew I needed to have some fruits. They cleaned and made up the room very nicely and always there to greet with a smile. The rest of the Staff not that friendly and always with serious faces. Reception and concierge service for a 5 star hotel was bad. Check in slow and waiting time was long. Stayed 6 night with 2 separate reservations. On the first reservation through Expedia they charged a deposit for 3 nights saying hotel policy. I was looking for a clinic nearby and I bumped into Miss Nuradilah where I finally saw a real genuine smile and she asked me if I needed any help as she saw me with a piece of paper trying to find my way somewhere. She came out of the hotel and showed me how to get there across the hotel. I told her I was very disappointing stay and no one smiled or cared at the hotel and I was staying on for another 3 nights With the next reservation. She took me straight to the reception and with a smile took out the deposit which was returned back. For the rest of the stay she made it very pleasant by checking how I was doing with her cheerful smile. If not for Ms Nuradilah smile I would call the Shangrila KL the most unfriendly hotel in KL. The cafe that was there was service without a smile and they took ages to get the tit bits ready. Shangrila KL needs a change of attitude so staff show a genuine welcoming smile as after all we are guests.
