The staff were wonderful! The hotel is also in a perfect location, right on Waikiki. I would stay again. My only negative experience was the size of the bathroom, very tiny, only reason for 4 and not 5 stars.

Staff were great especially housekeeping. Room was good. Beds were comfortable. Rooms are a bit dated and could use a refresh. Beach is wonderful. My real complaint was the location of my room. Yes I did choose city view because I booked 2 rooms and I wanted to save a bit of money. But it is very noisy on this side of hotel. Street noise-cars racing down Kalākaua Ave and general party noise. (Christmas season). Also our room was at the very end facing Cheesecake Factory, and the Royal Hawaiian hotel seemed to be dumping garbage 2-3 times during the night. Dumping steel and such. So much for their noise bylaw. We did let the manager at Outrigger know and they gave us a small discount on both rooms. Also, I booked 2 exact rooms but my kids room was definitely bigger than mine.

Everything is nice there, the only thing that is unfair is daily fees on top of the price!

Great location on the beach and walkable to shopping and restaurants. Fast elevator. Friendly staff. ABC store in lobby was very convenient. Concierge was knowledgeable when booking reservations. Only disappointment was slow cleaning service. About 4 days during the week the room wasn't serviced until after 3pm.
