Naxos and Lesser Cyclades Luxury Holidays

I was very disappointed with my stay at the Grand Ambassador in Akrotiri, Santorini. This hotel advertises itself as a 5-star property, but my experience did not reflect that standard. The room had an ants problem. I reported it to the staff and the manager, but nothing was done to resolve the issue during my stay. It's unacceptable to ignore a basic cleanliness concern like this. Though they cleaned everyday but it never took care of the ants. They needed to hire a company and spray the property. The hotel also advertises king-size beds, but the bed in my room was actually a queen, which was misleading. The manager argued it was a king and send someone else to measure. Come to find out the bed IS a queen size. He stated that he order king size and thats what he received. I paid for a king size bed not a queen. He didnt bother of trying to find another room or make it right. In addition, several fixtures in the room were outdated or in poor condition, making the room feel poorly maintained. The property was amazing with a beautiful panoramic view. The floor staff was super friendly. For a hotel that is advertising to be 5 stars, I expected much better service, maintenance, and honesty . Unfortunately, my experience fell far short of those expectations, and I would not recommend staying here unless these issues are addressed.

A wonderful stay. Firstly, the location is spectacular (but you must be able to deal with steps) and the thoughtfulness and quality of layout and fixtures and fittings was excellent. The warm and friendly team had such great attention to detail, the daily housekeeping was better than most hotels I have stayed in. All the meals we tasted were delicious and the WhatsApp to reception was a really thoughtful way of working . The service provided and the way requests were dealt with, all contributed to a fantastically luxurious and relaxing holiday.

The hotel is set on various levels and can feel strange at first the pool and restaurants are over one part with other hotels in between its like a maze. Very helpful friendly staff room was excellent resort is hard to get to unless you walk or use taxis which can be expensive. The island is lacking a good local bus service. 2 miles to fira which is beautiful and a lovely walk along various paths and steps
