Great place to stay if on your way through Christchurch. Great location, comfortable, large rooms

Staff were very lovely. Check-in was easy with easy bag drop both before and after check-in/check out. Lots of details that made us question the rating of the property, but also would have been totally reasonable for a 3-star property. Everything was totally fine and nothing really to write home about but we definitely questioned the 5-star rating we had seen daily. I wouldn't *not* recommend this hotel. If it's in your price range, it's totally ok, but absolutely buyer beware- you are getting what you pay for.

Wonderful once again Even had the heat pump running so my room was lovely and warm on arrival 👍

Super handy location, just a walk away from the airport, supermarket and restaurants. Would definitely stay again.

What a fantastic stay at The George! The room was cozy, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. I especially appreciated the gluten-free options available, which made my stay much easier and more enjoyable. Having access to a laundry room was another great convenience during my travels. The location is perfect for walking, with wonderful paths and beautiful surroundings to explore. The gym is excellent and well-equipped, making it easy to keep up with my routine while away from home. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. A special thank you for the sweet little teddy bear left to take care of guests at night—it was such a thoughtful and heartwarming touch that made me smile. I highly recommend The George and would happily stay here again!

Very quiet, beside golf course. Owner very helpful, gave great suggestions for dinner and site seeing.
