Helpful staff. We initially had a room (balcony with lake view) with communicating door. Due to noisy neighbour we were reallocated to another room by very helpful hotel receptionist and porter. Our reallocated room was spacious but hotel was not very generous with their toiletries provision. Breakfast menu limited choice and presentation could be improved. Breakfast on day left much to be desired: plates cold, toasts were soggy, food lukewarm, not appetising. Better attempt the next day after we complained. Restaurant staff were helpful and pleasant. Lake view is superb particularly at sunset. Ample free parking including covered parking if you’re lucky. Dinner at hotel was good. We had grilled chicken salad which was very generous in portion and very tasty. Wine was excellent in quality and value. We checked out the spa and pool area but didn’t use it due to very cold room temp. There is a changing room but no lockers in the spa area. There are loungers around the pool but not tempting enough to hang around as the area is too cold. As a result we took one star off the amenities. Overall the interior decor of the hotel looks tired but is compensated by enthusiastic and helpful staff, and the superb hotel setting.

Facilities were excellent in a roomy unit. Shower area was an area of concern for us oldies due to water going everywhere under same floor line as rest of wet area until we got used to it and adjusted our thinking. Overall, a central well equipped place to stay during the footy festival. Will be back again.
