Hands down the most amazing hotel I have ever stayed at. We came down for the first day of Jazz Fest and this property just made our trip spectacular. Everything was great I don’t even know where to begin, from the location, the property, the room, to check in/check out. There are so many pros, this is going to be our forever property whenever we come down to NOLA. Location: this was the cherry on top, when I say everything is walking distance I mean everything. Pack some good walking shoes, our car stayed parked in the parking lot the whole trip. We walked back from Jazz Fest(Ubers/traffic was a nightmare everywhere so we decided to walk back and made it safely) we walked down to Ruby Slipper Cafe for breakfast/brunch and grabbed some coffee and pastries down at Ayu Bakehouse( highly recommend both in your visit) Buffa’s across the street for some drinks and live music. -Room: BOOK THE FRENCHMAN SUITE!!! DO IT! HUGE, Clean, the best A/C I have had at any hotel, amazing bathroom/ shower, it was like our own little NOLA apartment, we felt right at home. -Staff was so friendly and kind from check in to check out. -Area was nice, quiet and safe! If you want to be near everything but appreciate your sleep, this is the PLACE!! Just book it, it is definitely worth every penny and more! Melrose Mansion has a customer for life.

asked for adjoining room with reservation 3 months ago, received an email from asst mgr that I would be 'pleased', when we checked in they wanted to have our rooms on separate floors! In order to have adjoining room we had to agree to being in rooms not 'remodeled' yet, they were not but not too bad (but not worth >300/night, more like an old comfort inn for $100/night)), worse was drilling noise (but it did stop after Sat). Check in person very unconcerned. Breakfast was good but one of our party paid cash and took 20 minutes to get change (and again, unconcerned service). I know they were busy (aren't they always in New Orleans? Fests all the time) but only parking guys were courteous.

Clean room, nice helpful staff.

Location couldn’t be better for easy access to FQ activities. Staff did excellent job attending to travelers needs! Hotel perks and restaurant offerings were worth staying around. The courtyard is an inviting escape from street life when needed. Our only, but significant, problem was room location! We were wedged into room between the fitness gym and hallway staircase so plenty of thumping, pounding and banging from both directions especially in early AM. Not conducive to a restful experience! Noise became progressively worse each day or we would have asked for room change.

This is my honest review: The exterior of the hotel and lobby are original, with beautiful architecture, and the location is very central. However, the rooms and hallways were outdated and felt unclean—there was black mould in the grout on the bathroom tiles, and the carpets clearly needed a professional cleaning. I understand this may be part of the hotel’s “aesthetic,” but I don’t think there’s any excuse for the room being dirty. Much of the furniture in the room also felt like it needed updating. The carousel bar was packed every time we went, so we eventually gave up trying to get in (which was one of the main reasons I chose the hotel). It’s also very close to Bourbon St, so walking back after dark didn’t feel like the safest experience. Overall, nothing about the hotel really stood out to us—it was simply a place to sleep.

Beautiful room with the perfect blend of vintage charm and modern style. The staff was amazing, friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. The Club Lounge was awesome with really good food and drinks. Overall, an excellent experience and definitely worth it!
