North Ari Atoll Beach Holidays

Kuramathi is a beautiful luxury resort. The beaches are long and uncrowded with swimming on one side if the island and reef snorkeling on the other. We had a Water Villa with pool...a large, clean modern space with a lovely bedroom and a huge bathroom overlooking our private deck and infinity pool. Pure luxury. Great choices in the buffet restaurant. Now for the disappointing part: The human element is completely missing here. No smiles or greetings from the staff, no sense of the hospitality and warmth we experienced on the Local islands. Kuramathi is a beautiful manufactured experience with no soul.

The island is breathtaking. I stayed in an overwater bungalow and it was absolute perfection. Very clean, verrry comfortable. I recommend the buffet over the restaurant. The restaurant meals were very hit or miss. Some of the service was excellent, others seem miserable and distracted. Saad at the dive school is a fantastic teacher for those who are first timers to snorkeling. If youre a smoker, bring your own cigarettes as a pack is $35 at the bar. If your a non-smoker, be aware that people smoke in pretty much all public spaces. My suggestion would be to bring USD and tip great servers, concierge and bartenders well ($20) early in your stay - it will elevate your experience 100%. They will go out of their way to make your stay the most comfortable.

When we arrived we were told we couldn't have a la carte dining until our third night as the restaurants were fully booked. There was no comparison eating at the buffet to the a la carte restaurants and although the rooms were fantastic, the snorkelling ok we would not go back as we don't want to end up with buffet food. Some of the management were very selective when talking to guests at their tables which was quite rude.
