8.8/10 Excellent! (185 reviews)
Lovely spacious apartment with a huge balcony and great views but is in desperate need of deep cleaning and updating. When the place was new would have been beautiful but the apartment has suffered from neglect. All the furniture is worn, faded and some damaged. The place needs a deep clean. Very much just quick superficial cleans for many years and very obvious the lack of attention around the apartment.

9.2/10 Wonderful! (1,005 reviews)
Hands down the most amazing hotel I have ever stayed at. We came down for the first day of Jazz Fest and this property just made our trip spectacular.
Everything was great I don’t even know where to begin, from the location, the property, the room, to check in/check out. There are so many pros, this is going to be our forever property whenever we come down to NOLA.
Location: this was the cherry on top, when I say everything is walking distance I mean everything. Pack some good walking shoes, our car stayed parked in the parking lot the whole trip. We walked back from Jazz Fest(Ubers/traffic was a nightmare everywhere so we decided to walk back and made it safely) we walked down to Ruby Slipper Cafe for breakfast/brunch and grabbed some coffee and pastries down at Ayu Bakehouse( highly recommend both in your visit) Buffa’s across the street for some drinks and live music.
-Room: BOOK THE FRENCHMAN SUITE!!! DO IT! HUGE, Clean, the best A/C I have had at any hotel, amazing bathroom/ shower, it was like our own little NOLA apartment, we felt right at home.
-Staff was so friendly and kind from check in to check out.
-Area was nice, quiet and safe! If you want to be near everything but appreciate your sleep, this is the PLACE!!
Just book it, it is definitely worth every penny and more! Melrose Mansion has a customer for life.

9/10 Wonderful! (2,018 reviews)
The Good: Matthew at front desk kindly checked us in very early as we had taken a red eye and were very early
Alexandra and Lauren at front desk were also very professional.
Leann helped us with our tours despite us not purchasing through the hotel after a terrible interaction with her colleague
Sohail in Pete’s restaurant was funny and friendly. Curtis at the omelette station was also quite nice to deal with
The Bad: The hotel ranged from unkempt and worn to stains and scratches in our bathroom wallpaper, torn net curtains. Filthy lampshades in Pete’s dining room and a black ring of grime around the swimming pool. I even fished dead insects out of the pool myself.
The Ugly: Diana in concierge was the most unpleasant, unprofessional person I have ever dealt with. She ranted about racism, Trump and Americans. We ended up booking 2 tours ourselves online as she was so rude.
Justina ( or Justiva?) was also incredibly rude when we called when our room was not cleaned. We had been out from noon until 6pm on a tour.
We also paid cash for drinks in your bar and were double charged on my wife’s credit card.
We paid for breakfast and were charged 20% service fees daily. I noticed a few guests questioned this. Service should be discriminatory NOT added. That was an extra $80 on our stay, in addition to the bar double charge
They also miscalculated our charges when checking out at $147, corrected to $76 when questioned, without an explanation?

Beautiful room with the perfect blend of vintage charm and modern style. The staff was amazing, friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. The Club Lounge was awesome with really good food and drinks. Overall, an excellent experience and definitely worth it!
