Nice hotel with all the amenities one could ask for. Pools are nice, and the food/drink options were good.

Our experience at Mandalay Bay was extremely disappointing, especially given the reputation and price point. It took nearly two hours just to check in and get to our room. To be fair, the woman who assisted us at the front desk was kind and professional—but the overall process was incredibly inefficient. When we finally got to our room, we were shocked to find dried urine on the toilet seat. At that point, after such a long wait, we didn’t feel we had the time or energy to call housekeeping and wait even longer, so I ended up cleaning it myself. That alone is completely unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber. Be prepared to be charged extra for just about everything. There is no in-room fridge unless you specifically request a medical one, which is important to know if you’re traveling with kids and need to store snacks or drinks. The minibar is extremely sensitive—if you even move an item, you risk being charged as if you consumed it, regardless of whether you actually did. The property itself is beautiful, but the experience doesn’t match the appearance. Cleanliness was lacking, and the constant extra charges made it feel like you’re being nickel-and-dimed at every turn. As an example, a very basic poolside lunch—hot dog and fries for my husband and two kids—came to nearly $100. Unfortunately, this was not the experience we were hoping for, and we will not be returning.

The property has multiple good shops and restaurants. Staff were polite, helpful and respectful. We stayed in the Tapas tower, the mattresses and pillows were comfortable while the rest of the furniture and room as a whole was definitely past its best before date. Housekeeping was attentive to detail and kept the room clean and changed towels and replaced the coffee supplies as required. The pools and lagoon were unsupervised and as facilities require attention.
