9/10 Wonderful! (1,001 reviews)
Very walkable location. Comfortable beds. We walked everywhere… nearby restaurants, pharmacy, grocery store, even a doctor visit to check my ears after scuba diving trouble,
The bar there that serves food isn’t great though. Pizza is like cardboard and one night we had like a comedy of service mistakes.
Still, a great place overall.

Every detaile of this property was excellent including the staff, the food, the help except for when checking out I was surprised that I was charged for the boat ride from the airport to the hotel which cost me $285.00. I was shocked since Hotels.com did not disclose this charge. That was disappointing! I thought since spending almost $8,000 the boat was complementary. Please for the future disclose every charge.

We stayed at Le Taha’a after our stay at the Westin in Bora Bora (so naturally it makes comparisons of service levels tough to be fair).
I will break down my feedback into a few categories:
- pick up at airport was quick and smooth. It takes about 45-60min by speedboat to transfer. The ride was lovely to see the island on the way as your are isolated from the main village once at the resort.
- Check in process was where I got a bit frustrated. It took for the reception staff to acknowledge us and process our check in (close to 30-40min) - it just felt silly how slow it was.
- we were then taken to the room. Firstly the room was beautiful - nothing I could fault here. It was clean and gave us the traditional authentic vibe we were seeking. Beautiful fish and sharks to watch - stunning
- food at the resort was limiting and value for dollar was lacking. It was not on the same level as any of the 3 bora bora resorts we have stayed in although the price for accommodation is comparable. Drinks were also more basic.
- We loved travelling into town for the tours- they were fantastic and loved them all. So much to see and do from the vanilla farm, atvs, pearl farming, snorkelling - we loved it.
- overall loved the island, grateful we got to see it in our overall French Polynesia itinerary. The hotel’s aesthetic and gardens are stunning. The service and food is what made me not give it 5 stars. It is just not at the level it’s charging for which made me feel a bit ripped off.

Really beautiful hotel with excellent staff. Rooms are fabulous.
Restaurants and bars are excellent.
The best snorkeling of our lives in Bora Bora. Reef sharks, stingrays, lots of fish and beautiful coral, colorful giant clams. We took 3 snorkeling excursions and snorkeled twice from the hotel directly. Once from our back porch of our overwater bungalow, and once from their beautiful beach.
The excursions take you to the best places for snorkeling, of course.
Practical information:
Expensive, but so are all the other hotels on the Motu in Bora Bora. You can only get around by boat, fyi. To get to the Westin from the airport, you take a complimentary Westin water taxi. To get to the mainland from Westin, water taxi is required. To get to another hotel on the Motu, water taxi. Get it? Wherever you choose to stay, you need to be prepared to eat all or most of your meals there, etc. If you want to go elsewhere, talk to the concierge to help you arrange it. There is no “water taxi uber” 😂.
