Between 1965 and 1983, celebrity performers for the Sahara Tahoe Hotel & Casino stayed at the Home of the Stars as guests of the hotel. More recently, guests include 44th former Vice President Dan Quayle; John Elway, 2-time Superbowl champion quarterback; Joe Pavelski, Olympic silver medalist, retired NHL athlete, and winner of the 2025 American Century Golf Tournament; and Vanderpump Rules celebrities who filmed “Lake it or Break it” in Season 11, Episode 5, at the Home of the Stars. The location of this residence is 50 feet from the National Forest, multiple secluded sand swimming beaches, lakeside rock boulders to fish from and hiking trails to the historic Zephyr Cove Resort & Marina. Every water toy is available for rent at the resort along with a restaurant, two full bars and summertime beach side volleyball. The historic MS Dixie II paddle wheeler, South Shores largest cruise ship, also berths at the resort and offers daily day and sunset cruises to Emerald Bay all year long. Hike or drive, this resort is easily accessible from the Home of the Stars.
Three spacious levels define Home of the Stars. The six bedrooms are contained on the upper level with a dry sauna to soothe the body after an exhilarating day on the slopes. The mid-level is where the action occurs with a gorgeous kitchen, grand dining area, sitting area with lakefront views, a living room with a fireplace, and pool table. On the lower-level the kids will enjoy the foosball table, television, kitchenette and access to the large lakefront deck, hot tub and bar-b-que. No need to venture upstairs for food and drinks during sunny days on the lake, just bring your treats down to the lower-level and spend the day lounging at your leisure, entering and exiting through the sliding glass wall and pocket door.
The 220-foot shared pier is a sight to behold amongst the granite boulders and a panorama of forest green pines and dazzling blue waters. Guests enjoy a shared pier and private buoy (located 100 feet off the pier with a painter and boathook). Please note the pier may not be used for loading/unloading passengers or tying of motorized boats. A kayak is available to access moored boats or for paddling recreation.

The house is beautiful. The views are fantastic. My whole family didn’t want to leave. The kitchen was the best equipped of any of the other properties we have rented. Loved the location.
Enjoyed our stay with the family at this beautiful cabin. The views of the lake were incredible. This property was super cute and comfortable and had everything we can think of. Definitely will book again. Few of the family members have already reached out for the booking link to this property. The only improvement I can think of is maybe adding an airfryer to kitchen would be a great addition for kids but other than that hands down the best cabin experience. Looking forward to staying at this property again.
Had my 50th birthday celebration with eight of my best friends. Perfect location, amazing experience! Pics on the site do not do the house and view justice. Host was very responsive and helpful too. Truely 5 stars!
Very comfortable and well supplied. Deck is a great place to watch sunset. Bedrooms can get a little warm on summer nights given the lack of air conditioning. But every room has a fan.
I was worried this place would not live up to the photos but it exceeded our expectations in every way. The space was great for our family. The location is just perfectly out of the way so there is no noise, and no traffic on the water. I really cannot recommend this rental enough. The items provided in the house were much higher end than other rentals and we travel a lot! We will be back for sure!
AMAZING !! Views of Lake Tahoe from our large private outdoor back porch and hot tub were gorgeous. The large windows on the second floor common areas provided terrific views. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better … stunning views from the two bedrooms on the third story that faced the water. The house was extremely large and was well equipped in every manor. All of our group were completely satisfied.

Best Vacation Rental We've Stayed At
Our family has stayed in numerous vacation rentals. Many of them have been great but this tops them all. Their property management team is proactive about making sure you are having a good time.
There are three stories of amazing lake views. The pier was fun for our boys to jump off of and swim.
The massive marble table (or whatever material it is) is great as it easily sits a large group. We played lots of cards and ate some great food. You are right next to biking/walking trails.
Expect to drive if you need to go somewhere as this is designed to be remote.
The price was fair and the we really enjoyed our stay.
Beautiful Lakefront Escape for a Large Family Gathering.
My family of 9 adults and 1 toddler stayed at House of the Stars over the holidays to celebrate my dad's 80th birthday. The host was extremely accommodating, allowing us an early check-in so we could settle in before the celebrations began.
The home was immaculately kept and had everything we needed to feel comfortable as a large group. The kitchen was well-stocked with all the pots, pans and appliances necessary to cook multiple meals for 10 people. They even had a play mat and highchair for our 1-year old daughter, which was such a nice touch.
The highlight was certainly the stunning lake views from the living room and master bedroom. We spent hours relaxing in the hot tub and sauna, taking in the peaceful scenery. At night, the home was unbelievably quiet - the perfect backdrop for relaxing after busy days together.
There was plenty of parking for our vehicles in the garage and driveway. The check-in and check-out processes were seamless. I would absolutely recommend House of the Stars for large multi-generational gatherings or celebrations. The host has clearly put a lot of thought into ensuring guests of all ages can enjoy their time in this beautiful home. It made for a very memorable family holiday.

Not Really Worth It - Lackluster Service and Furnishings
The location on the water in a nice neighborhood is excellent---great views of the lake. The rest of it was below standard, especially for this price range. The dock is shared with the neighbors, so expect to have an awkward interaction while enjoying your morning coffee or hanging out on the dock. The house doesn't have TVs in the bedrooms and is generally sparsely or inexpensively furnished (cheap sheets, pillows, and furniture). Obvious it's a production-style rental, not a high-end luxury property. Very little attention to detail on basic shampoo, soaps, etc. in the bathrooms. Communication with the property manager was absolutely embarrassing---they just sent me automated texts over and over, then didn't respond to simple requests for help with the Sonos system (which is only in 2 rooms, not the whole house). At check-in, which is 4pm (6 hours after their 10am check-out time), the cleaning crew, which they charge a huge amount for, was still there and had to rush out, leaving a bit of a messy transition. Overall, the location is the only real plus for this property, unfortunately.
Excellent location and amazing amenities after a major renovation! We stayed here many times and enjoyed the stay, but newly remodeled kitchen, rooms, and facilities make it one of a kind. Excellent communication with the manager also very helpful. Looking forward to coming back again!
Amazing and beautiful home. Impeccable service and response times

Breathtaking sunset views from all three levels and deck!
Our entire family enjoyed our stay at this amazing vacation home in Zephyr Cove. Very comfortable with full amenities, and the kids enjoyed the toys, foosball, pool table and board games provided. We prepared breakfasts in the huge kitchen with super large marbled table and counters. The house is very clean, bright and huge windows to view the deck, the beautiful Lake and the surrounding mountains! We will cherish wonderful memories we had here, especially fortunate to have had the perfect weather in November!
House was awesome with an amazing location! Wish we were able to dock the boat at the pier but it was easy enough to manage. Beautiful home with an easy 20 min drive to South Lake. Would love to come back!
Everything we’d hoped and more. 10/10 all around. Everyone was so happy. We already looked at staying this exact weekend next year, and the property was booked so pick your stay as soon as you can.
A group of 9 college buddies fit very well, the property is as advertised and comes with lots of thought put into it from the management company. The neighborhood was very quiet on an off weekend and was easy to get to from Stateline and the Reno airport. Overall would highly recommend, would love to try it again during the winter.
If you are planning a stay and want to make the trip truly something special, stay here! EVERYTHING and I mean everything was as advertised. Communication was outstanding and took all the pressure and stress of a family vacation off my to do list. I could not be happier and will definitely visit again! Thank you!!!!
