"Check-in was seamless and the house looks just like the photos inside and out. One thing the photos can’t capture is the expanse of the land surrounding the property. There a house next door on the driveway side (which is nice actually so you’re not 100% alone) but no direct views so it still feels very private and remote. The back and other sides of the house look out onto open land. On the property and into the horizon you’ll find palo verde, mesquite, and Joshua trees, and creosote bushes (often associated with petrichor - think the aroma of desert rain). We brought groceries and the kitchen is fully-equipped so we were able to make all of our meals. We had such a good time cooking and dunking in the cowboy pool during the sunlight hours and watching the Perseids meteor shower at night. The office is a great place to focus (good Wi-Fi access) and to keep any necessary work things separate from vacation things. Lots of good books and records, comfy beds, and everywhere you look is a little vignette of art and nature. Which leads to the gallery - such a cool addition to a vacation space. The exhibition right now focuses on photography and natural elements, really beautiful work. Love this place!"

"My partner and I loved this place. The man at the front desk was super friendly. The room was clean. We had the jungle room and it was just a lot of fun to stay in. Our room also had a jacuzzi inside which was nice to relax in after a day at Joshua Tree National Park. We want to go back and stay in the Cave room next!"

"This property offers breathtaking sunsets, sunrises, and valley views, creating a truly remarkable setting. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub extensively, relaxing in the cooler evenings with stargazing and even witnessing a shooting star. The house maintained a comfortable temperature throughout the hot July months. All appliances and the BBQ were fully functional, making meal preparation easy for our group of nine, with quality utensils, plates, bowls, and cups.Finding accommodations suitable for nine adults, two elderly family members, and two large indoor dogs was challenging, but Sunset House made it possible. It provided five bedrooms, three bathrooms, a spacious kitchen, and generous prep areas, ensuring we were never crowded. The numerous windows allowed us to enjoy scenic views from almost anywhere inside.My first experience communicating with the FIELDTRIP team was very positive—prompt, friendly, and helpful, earning a five-star rating. We loved the daily hot tub, games, air hockey table, ample pool towels, and user-friendly washer and dryer. Parking for four cars and full house and garage access were appreciated. We hope to return; our stay was truly magical."

"We had a wonderful time. The home is very comfortable with plenty of room to spread out. The main living area is spacious with a large couch, two comfortable recliners and much more. The large screen in the living room was excellent.The AC works very well and did not have any difficulty keeping the place amazingly comfortable even with the outside temp above 110 degrees. We only used one of the three bedrooms, but all of them are well furnished, comfortable and with a separate TV in each. Unfortunately (for us) this was a quick trip, and we did not have time to enjoy the wonderful pool (w/Spa) or the back yard, but we are certainly looking forward to enjoying them on our next trip to JTNP.The host is excellent. Very communicative with super rapid responses to all questions. The supplemental information on the area that was excellent. Most appreciated were the concise and simple check-out instructions, which included the (short) list of things to double check before leaving. We will definitely stay here again!"
