Great spot for a getaway, the location is perfect and the room is very clean, neat and tidy with everything needed, had a spa in the room which was a bonus and the bed was extremely comfortable, will definitely stay here again.

Stayed here on a friend's recommendation. Room was clean & comfortable. Room is serviced after every 2 days as most guests are short stay as stated in their compendium. If you need anything you need to ask. We struggled to dry our towels enough to reuse. It was unclear where to park & find reception initially & we helped another guest & her daughter who were in the same boat doing laps. Parking was out on the street in front of your unit if it was an outside facing one or else in a larger car park nearby. Comfy bed, quiet overall, restaurant meals were generous. Easy acess to main street & all shops & eating. Fridge is in need of a decent clean around the seals, they were very grotty.

This is country town accommodation. It is clean and comfortable and a good standard. York is a beautiful Western Australian historic town, neat, tidy, a safe environment with very friendly people, about 100km from Perth. Very relaxed.

The town of York is lovely. The visitors center has so much great information. Now to the Settlers Cottage, the carpet was disgraceful and filthy. Bugs in the room, no drinking water, no hairdryer, only luke warm water for shower, musty smell. The place has so much potential, but not taken care of. We booked a deluxe twin room, nothing deluxe about it!I trying to be very honest so that the next person isn’t as upset as we were. We had a prepaid evening check in, so felt that we had no choice but to stay.

The poor girl at reception was all alone, and responsible for the restaurant, the bar and the hotel reception. I had to wait quite some time before she could attend to me. The room was a long walk away. I could not get the key in, so had to walk all the way back. The girl could not leave reception so the cook came - walk all the way back to the room. He was in a hurry. It wasn't working properly, so I had to walk all the way back to reception again, where I got the key to another room. It took 45 minutes from my arrival till I was in the room. Things in the room were minimal, but ok. Unfortunately no table or chair for writing - which I needed. Other than that all ok. The staff were nice, there just weren't enough of them.

Dont ever accept room 69. Its right next to an air conditioning duct of some sort which is so noisy it kept me awake all night with its clattering. On top of that i wasnt offered any assistance with getting my luggage and touring bicycle up and down some long and very steep stairs (no lifts) to room 69 on the upper floor. Im a 73 year old female so that was quite a struggle! Receptionist said I was lucky to get a room...I was lucky to be paying for a substandard room which should not be sold to anyone wanting to sleep...what's lucky about that? Receptionist obviously hasnt done the customer relations refresher course. Im hoping I dont fall down the stairs getting my bike out. Perhaps they need someone to make a compensation claim on their public liability policy to remind them that their patrons are perhaps a tiny bit important to their business. I will not stay here again.

Settlers house in York was a great place to stay and so convenient to all the attractions. It was economical, very clean and comfortable. Live music all weekend created a lovely ambience. The staff were great and couldn't do enough for us.
