Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Yaylakoy?
The best area to stay in Yaylakoy is the village centre itself, which offers direct access to the region's natural beauty and local life.

The village centre is compact and easy to navigate on foot, with hotels and guesthouses often located among tea plantations or overlooking valleys. You'll find local eateries and small shops here, giving you a real feel for the Black Sea culture. The main square, though small, is a focal point for locals and visitors alike.

For couples seeking a tranquil escape, staying within the village centre is ideal. You'll find accommodations that provide stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, great for relaxing on a balcony with a cup of local tea. Many guesthouses here offer a cosy, intimate setting, allowing for peaceful walks through the nearby tea fields and a chance to experience the serene pace of village life.

Solo travellers will also appreciate the village centre for its convenience and the welcoming nature of the community. It's easy to strike up conversations with locals and fellow travellers, and the central location means you're well-placed for organised excursions or simply exploring the immediate area.
When is the best time to go to Yaylakoy?
The best time to visit Yaylakoy is during the late spring and summer months, from May through to September, when the weather is at its most favourable for outdoor activities.

During these months, you can expect pleasant temperatures, generally ranging from 18°C to 28°C, with less rainfall compared to other times of the year. This makes it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the region, including the lush green plateaus and the Black Sea coast. The days are longer, giving you more time to enjoy the scenery and local attractions.

This period is particularly good for families looking for an active holiday. The warmer weather is superb for hiking in the Kackar Mountains, picnicking by the Firtina River, or enjoying boat trips along the coast. Many local festivals and outdoor events also take place during the summer, offering a chance to experience the local culture.

Couples seeking a romantic getaway will also appreciate the mild weather, which is superb for leisurely strolls through tea plantations or enjoying dinner with a view of the mountains.
