From when we first hopped on the transfer boat and the beach Botaira was one of my favourites. The welcome and main hunt just completely what you want a FIJI to be. Homely, friendly, welcoming and traditional. The staff are lovely and sang through each of our meals. The gave a great concert on the first night with traditional singing and dance. The beach front villa was very large with beautiful Fiji pattern painted on the high ceiling. I had a nice bathroom and hot water in the evenings and a fridge. They provide fresh water in the room daily and had a good selection of free activates and even though at dinner there were a few guests you felt like that the whole place was just yours. We did a village visit and this is well worth it. Snorkelling and swimming is good as is many places in Fiji.
I did not want to leave and I would return in a heart beat.
The situation is wonderful with the bures right on the beach and with a good distance between them ensuring privacy. The view from our bure was stunning - the beach through a frame of palm tree fronds. The resort has a great relaxed air about it with the staff very friendly and attentive. Activities are organised each day, such as snorkeling, fishing, walks and visits to the village. They are carried out in a relaxed, informative manner. The food, for the most part was good and varied. We loved our stay.
Lovely staff, great setting. Good food, reasonably priced wifi. A nice mix of backpackers and others( from honeymooners to energetic retirees.) The large tables at mealtimes encourage people to interact. Great eco friendly resort. Staff also ensure no snorkelling at low tide, we have seen so much reef destruction in Figi...simply disrespect and / or lack of education of tourists. Very refreshing, well done guys!
"Great for People Who Don't Expect a 5 Star Resort"
This place was pleasant. We (young married couple) stayed in a 3 bed dorm for our first night, then moved to a Luxury En-Suite Bure - which was a very funky accommodation choice. Canvas tent, with zipper-down windows, open/outdoor shower and bathroom. If you like camping, you will like this luxury-style camping. The food was great and the staff made a point to know my name! They serve a four course dinner for the Luxury En-Suite guests, and a 3 course meal for the dorm guests. No choice of food however. What they serve, you eat. One option for soup, entrée and dessert.
Staff were fantastic, we got to know everyone and had such a personal experience. Lots of entertainment and activities. buses are very nice and clean. Resort may not be as modern as some other resorts but I think it adds to its charm. Would definitely go back again, mostly to see the amazing staff!
Beautiful resort, lots of activities, hike the mountain ridge to see the sunrise, dive shop on site, snorkeling right there on the beach, cave snorkel trip, night snorkeling. Lots of fun! They had fun activiites in the evening.
Overall a very well managed and appointed resort. The food was excellent, the snorkelling was exceptional with the variety of marine creatures. The cost was reasonable. The rooms were adequate and beds comfortable.
Less developed than the nearby Mamanucas, the 16 Yasawa islands and smaller islets are noted for their lush hilltops, classic palm-fringed white-sand beaches, and brilliant coral reefs. Volcanic in origin, the islands are a paradise for cruisers, yachties, honeymooners, divers, and backpackers, with resorts to match, from budget through to exclusive 5-star retreats.
