I booked an airport transfer with the hotel and they didn’t show up. My flight number changed but I arrived and waited for the transfer. There is only one flight per day, so it is not hard to imagine that I could arrive.
I took a taxi and they wanted to charge me the transfer anyway.. with the excuse that the driver was waiting for me at the wrong terminal (there is only one international terminal at Yangon airport, where could he be? At departure area?)
The hotel is old, decadent decoration, smells bad around the elevator area, needs an urgent renovation.
The telephone and fridge dont work.. breakfast is very simple.
However it is well located, close to main attractions of the city, that why I chose the hotel but I don’t recommend.
Breakfast was of local taste , quality of coffee poor & mostly not hot enough.
Language problem with with the hotel restaurant staff , language skills of check in staff were acceptable.
Great location , very nice staff. Would recommend to all. Great views over city from 14th floor breakfast with a view.

Convenient location
Hotel is old, decaying and needs renovation. Noise from speaker at the market at the back of hotel is quite disturbing. Water leaks from toilet bowl. Tiles around shower bath tub are cracked. Shower towels are old and thin. Room are clean.
Complimentary breakfasts are cheap and cold everyday. Price is expensive comparing to its status. You can find cheaper and better new hotels around it.
The room that I stayed in the view was good but the Hotel room was a bit run down.

Great view of the Pagoda and surrounding building
This is my third stay at the Asian Plaza Hotel, in the last four years and each time I have found it to be a pleasant stay. There is no doubt the hotel and the rooms are dated, however, it has a certain ambience about it and there is an excellent view from the 14th floor where the restaurant is located.
Without a doubt, this hotel's greatest asset is their staff from the security man outside, the bellboy's, front desk Staff and the maids. They all try very hard to please and are pleasant to deal with notwithstanding the slight language barrier.
I have always stayed in the old section of the hotel being the front part which allows you a much better view. The rooms are large, fairly basic and do the job quite well. There is television, air-conditioning and excellent Wi-Fi, in fact, the Wi-Fi is so good it is better than my Optus cable broadband Wi-Fi in Sydney Australia. When I first came to Burma in 2012 stayed at this hotel the Wi-Fi was almost non-existent and it was dial-up speed, my how things can change so quickly, which is definitely what is happening in Burma.
Do yourself a favour and get to Burma as quick as you can as changes happening at a rapid pace and I will briefly explain on the negative side. Unfortunately, the Western influence is creeping into Burma, with advertising everywhere on their trains and platforms. KFC if you like it is now there are also think Pizza Hut may be there. There is also a large Lamborghini dealership, unbelievable! Go there soon!!
