If you want a true Oregon experience, and if privacy, solitude and pristine environment, is what you desire and deserve, the gated privacy of Historic Mountain Pacific Chalet is the cabin for you! The thundering Pacific Ocean, the emerald green Coast Mountains and the pristine Ancient Forest is all that can be seen and heard at this unique cabin. Perched on a forested mountainside 250 ft. above the sea, this exposed beam A-Frame Cedar Chalet with its custom mill work, glowing wood stove, an outside ocean view hot tub, and indoor ocean view jacuzzi, will make for a one of a kind experience.

The Mountain Pacific Chalet sets back off the road, with gated security. The forest, mountains and ocean can be viewed from all rooms in this beautiful Cedar Chalet and rest assured, it has one of the most breath taking views on ALL of the rugged Oregon Coast. You won't be disappointed!

Imagine sitting in the great room with its huge wooden beams and glowing wood stove, and watching as Whales, Orcas, Seals and Sea Lions swim within a few hundred feet from where you are sitting. You will also watch Bald Eagles soar overhead as countless Eagles call this area (Seal Point) home.

Imagine the early morning swish as a Whale surfaces to get a breath of crisp, pure Oregon air. Imagine watching a friendly Black Bear meandering in the woods on his way to catch a fish or pick berries. And, imagine the peace and tranquility that you will experience relaxing in this cabin with a good book and your favorite tea, among the mist, the mountains, and being surrounded be the 3 million acre jewel of the Oregon Coast, the Siuslaw National Forest with not a single neighbor anywhere nearby.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our longest trip on the coast, we really needed it. Everything was perfect, we had some great and some awful weather, we saw elk on the property and had a great time. We will be back :) Everything was good as it always has been (this was either our 7th or 8th stay at this property).

Total privacy. Be ready for the very steep and winding gravel driveway, but once you're over that its totally worth it! Amazing view! No cell phone signal, and thats a good thing... Loved it! Its our new home away from home.

60th birthday celebration

Three of us stayed at the Chalet. It was the perfect size and met all of our needs. The hot tub was great! The unit was very clean & everything was in working order. You might want to provide an information book to explain all the remotes. We did lose power on Saturday morning for 5 hours. The communication with the property manager was slow. I left 3 messages before I was called back. We loved the unit and would stay here again.

We booked it for our baby moon, and I was scouring all of the beach rentals for a jacuzzi tub with an ocean view. This rental advertised a jacuzzi tub with an ocean view, but when we arrived the ocean view had been walled off. Also, the water is rusty. I was glad we packed jugs of water to drink. I ran the water for a long time, and still it came out the color of tea. Needless to say, I didn't get to take my bath. The place is cute and nicely decorated. It's kind of dark, and there is no beach access (it doesn't advertise beach access, but for those that are hoping for this, want to just let you know it is not available).

Our Favorite Coastal Rental

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed here 12 nights in May. Every day, the view was stunning. We shared our space with 2 grown kids most nights, 2 more grown kids for a few nights, and had 2 nights just the 2 of us. There was plenty of room for 6, and all slept well, then had a great time visiting various ocean sites, along with Yachats, and Florence. The management company was very prompt emptying the outdoor trash can when we texted them. From past experiences, they've ALWAYS been so very helpful if anything came up. We've been coming here twice per year for years now, and I will ALWAYS use Ocean Odyssey. Since last October,the owner made some changes upstairs, making it even more functional. It's a strong, sturdy house, unmatched views and privacy!

The lack of privacy in the upstairs bathroom (no glass and blinds in the window area) made us all need to use the downstairs. For three people it was perfect, when we had our older son join for the weekend, it started to get a bit crowded. Location, location, location make this a great stay, though!Generally it was clean, although we did find wrappers and small garbage under furniture while looking for a dropped item. Overall it was fine. We didn't have any issues while we were there for 10 days, everything worked so no reason to contact maintenance.It was fun to hike the property trails, go to the beach, and explore the coastal areas. Yachats is close, so it was fun to explore that area.Overall, it was a fun, funky, family cabin and we enjoyed our time. We would book again. I just caution that you understand it is not a private bath upstairs.

We enjoyed our stay , the online comments were misleading, out of date . Place has been updated, no weird open space by the upstairs tub people had complained about. Sheets were fine,others had said take your own,no need,same with pans, there are a ton of pots and pans .The kitchen is fully stocked with almost any kind of pan etc .There is a Kureig so take pods if you like coffee. Wifi was a great, no issues. There are binoculars and outdoor lounges. so you don't need to bring your own ,which we did ,as some reviewers has suggested. It is like a l lodge in decor. When you rent do check in with the rental agency on how the key system now works before driving to the cabin , will save you some minor frustration. Only minor request , would like a folder with easy step by step on how the DISH tv works ( you do not get local news etc. we are non techies ) and a folder with specifics to the house and perhaps a map for fun trails designated on the property. The heating system has a few issues, a knob doesn't stay on one, one t behind the TV, There are two portable heaters but only one works. There are cozy blankets in a cedar chest if you get chilled ,I can see this in the winter but there s a wood burning stove .The location is great there are beaches to drive to within a mile or so each way,view is wonderful. appreciated we could take our 10 pound Diva Pup.We hope to return.

We love the privacy, the view, and the convenient location between Yachats and Florence. It's only a few miles to Heceta Head Lighthouse and Sea Lion Caves to the south, and it's close to Cape Perpetua and Yachats to the north. The view is beautiful, the house is clean, and the property managers from Ocean Odyssey are wonderful!

It sits by itself on a wooded hill with no other houses,buildings, or the highway in sight. Complete privacy and quiet. The view of the ocean is expansive and you feel as if you could reach out and touch it. There are even some rocks below that seals use. The chalet itself is a little dated but the furniture is comfortable. The night temperature got into the 40s during our stay and the baseboard heat in the living room was sufficient to heat the whole cabin. (Also has a wood stove which we didn't use).Loved it.

Enjoyed Yachets, Heceta lighthouse, Sea Lion cave, Cape Perpetua. Easy drive to either Newport or Florence. Love the Mo's in Florence. Reported as 3 queen beds; they were full sized at most, not queens.

Several hiking trails directly from the property in the woods surrounding the house. Kitchen had all the needed amenities. We personally like staying out of town, preferring the "wild." This is truly "where the forest meets the sea." The Chalet is a very sturdy house, ready to take on the elements. It has gorgeous views of the ever-changing ocean, and is easy to drive to both Yachats and Florence. It is always clean upon arrival. It has everything you need, but bring extra paper products. We haven't stayed in the winter, but think you'd probably have no choice but to use the wood stove to warm it up. It has baseboard heat. If you have favorite fry pans, bring them, but there is a variety of pots and pans provided. The people at Ocean Odyssey are very nice and very helpful if something comes up and you need them. We gave booked through them twice a year for many years, and are always happy.

The views are just amazing--my husband even saw a whale from the hot tub one morning! While walking to beach access does require walkinng alongside the highway, we found it a very easy drive with the dog to several beach waysides within a 5-10 minute drive. Speaking of the highway, car noise was rarely an issue--we mostly heard the wind in the trees and the ocean. Looking forward to booking another stay in the future.
