Blowhole Bungalow - Comfortable Yachats Home

Our "Blowhole Bungalow" is aptly named for the migrating spouting whales that can be seen from the beautiful, open great room picture windows. And also for the naturally occurring blowhole formed in the rocky coastline just a few blocks from the house.

Just a few blocks in the other direction is a sandy beach for playing, kite flying, tide pool exploring, etc. All within easy walking distance.

The Blowhole Bungalow was designed and built in 2000 to be a welcoming, warm, comfortable and cozy escape for our family. It has been our getaway destination in all seasons of the year where we have treasured our fun and unforgettable times together, and we trust you will find that, too!

This property is lovely and exceeded expectations. It is larger than I thought from the pictures and has great windows with views of the waves. Very clean and well equipped. One of the nicest rentals we've had. We hope to return.

Birthday at the beach

Fabulous location, beautiful home thats clean, quiet and comfortable. Everything you need just steps (literally) from the beach. There's even a keurig!

The title says it all. The Blowhole Bungalow was a slice of heaven. The house was cozy, comfortable and clean; the location was ideal for us (a short walk to the beach and near several great restaurants but a little out of the way of the busy part of town) and we can't wait to get back.

We have always been happy with it and will probably stay there next time we go.We weren’t able to turn the shower on in the front bathroom and left a note. The recliners also need cleaning or replacing.Overall it was a great place.

Great place for an ocean getaway.

Really comfortable place to rest and rewind. Steps away from multiple views of the awesome power of the Pacific Ocean. A decent view of the ocean from the front room but better views within steps. This house is very well equipped and has multiple places to sit and have little groups.

Great location!

Stayed here before a few years ago. Love the roominess of house, the location, views and amenities! Very comfortable for 6 people! Could use some TLC as is obvious the years of renting has taken a toll. Would still recommend as a great place to stay and will return but would hope for some revitilazation!!

The property is somewhat dated as are the house instructions. The fireplace and the outdoor trash can were ‘locked. It was functional for our group, and it just needs a bit of TLC. Location very good and as advertised.

Holiday in the Blowhole Bungalow

My husband, daughter and I enjoyed our stay at the Blowhole Bungalow. The house was clean and spacious. It was in a great location. We were able to walk into town on the Oregon Coast Trail. I enjoyed having coffee in the morning looking at the giant waves crashing in off in the distance. The house is in a very quiet area. Easy to get into the house. An overall wonderful holiday stay.

Blowhole Bungalow

Blowhole Bungalow offered my husband and I (both who turn 80 this year) a beautiful, peaceful and inspiring retreat. Windows look out on a lovely, serene garden with the Ocean beyond, which reminded us a bit of our past vacations in Bali and Hawaii. A path leads through a garden gate into a lane leading directly down to the seaside road which has little traffic. On the walls of the house hang a number of moving and expressive woodcuts, and on side tables, a collection of finely painted colorful lighthouses. We had a difficulty checking in which was hard, but the property manager responded with utmost care and generosity, which touched us and rested our sense of upset over the event.

Nice place, but needs better cleaning

It's a nice house, in good condition, in a great location. Air conditioning works well. But the kitchen in particular was not clean. The oven was kind of disgusting, we decided not to use it at all and instead took food over to another house to cook it. There were still coffee grounds in the coffee maker, and leftover coffee still in the coffee pot. There was something disgusting in a bathroom drawer.

Lovely cottage, strange rental policies

My husband and I had a fabulous visit to Yachats, where we stayed in Blowhole cottage for four nights. It is beautifully located very close to the ocean, w a lovely view out the huge picture window in the living room. It is roomy and comfortable and very clean, despite some carpeting tht should be replaced. The strange part included a statement on the welcome email w the keybox code. The rental company stated that they do NOT provide any paper supplies, including toilet paper, paper towels, kleenex, or any personal soap for washing hands or showering. This struck me as very bizarre, as when one pays a price of $300 plus per night, one expects basic paper supplies to be included…and what vacationer doesn’t need to wash their hands and take a shower?! I called to inquire about this & was told that actually there WOULD be paper towels and toilet paper, & the rental person said he would also provide kleenex…but no soap other than for dishwashing or laundry. How weird! Every VRBO I have stayed in for years has included all paper products, including kleenex, plus soap, usually shampoo, & usually body lotion as well. It is a courtesy to provide these items & much less inconvenient for the rental company than for the renter! There were 3 large screen tvs in the cottage, w multiple remotes, but no directions as to how to use them. Frustrating. Asking renters to wash & dry towels before departure not okay. Still, nice cottage. Enjoyed Rummikub
