"The cottage is next to the main road. No staying up late in bed in the mornings, the road noise woke us up from 7am. Quiet at night. The location is good, very central to explore Northumberland. Cottage well equipped, especially the kitchen. Communication was good with host. Good options for restaurants (3 within walking distance) and take aways, Coop and Budgens in the village. "

"I booked this cottage through Expedia and received confirmation that my reservation was confirmed. I travelled around 300 miles from the south of England, while my elderly parents travelled from the north so we could meet there for a family break.
On the day of arrival, I never received the promised key-safe information. After contacting Expedia, they were initially unable to locate my booking. I eventually obtained access details from a neighbour, only to discover that the property was occupied...

"Glebe Cottage was a lovely place to stay. The location was superb with views out to sea from the cottage and hot tub. The cottage was well appointed and very clean. I read other people’s reviews so brought some scissors. Bonus of having electric car chargers right outside the cottage. It’s really thoughtful of the owners to mow the edges of the fields so you can easily walk to the coast or to Embleton village without going on the road.
Only downside for me personally was that I didn’t find the...

"Really enjoyed our stay here. Lovely cottage. Had all we needed. Clean, comfortable and cosy. Fab location for supermarket, bakery, gift shops and loads of restaurants a few steps away.! Short drive to major sightseeing spots too We would definitely stay again and looking into when we can rebook.
Ps. Also got to enjoy the outside seating area for a couple of days. A real sun trap "

"Despite the wet and windy conditions we really enjoyed our stay and managed to get around to our favourite spots. Steve & Julie provided a lovely starter pack to see us over the first 24 hours. Cottage is superb, with all the amenities you would expect at home. Would recommend it as a base to tour the countryside."

"We stayed in Daisy one of the lakeside cabins. Loved it.
The room had a great layout with the dressing table behind the bed and the bed looking out to the lake. Lovely bathroom too with rain shower.
We loved the outdoor balcony area, so peaceful and relaxing to sit outside. The spa outdoor bath was also great to relax in, tho it did seem to have a slow leak around the plug area.
Everything was perfect for a romantic, relaxing stay… until - evening came.
We stayed a Friday and Saturday night and there were weddings in the venue on the estate both nights. The noise inside the cabin was very loud! I struggled to get to sleep both nights as it went on towards midnight.
The welcome pack in the cabin encourages you to take in the tranquility and not to make excessive noise - but the noise from the weddings spoiled our time there.
We did pass on our concerns when checking out but the member of staff wasn’t that concerned. It was more a shrug of the shoulders and “oh well”
It spoiled what would otherwise have been a perfect stay."
"On entering the hotel you will be met by warm and inviting staff. off to the left of the reception is an insanely stocked whisky lounge but prices are on the steep side for you average dram. There is a 24 bar located en route to the rooms and an Aperol was £18!!! scandalous.
Charlies is the main restaurant and breakfast area. breakfast was good but the plates were weirdly small, slightly bigger than a side plate. the smell of the “Smokies” reeked out the lobby at the lifts and filled the corridor towards the spa.
The spa was nice, 4hrs consecutively is the max for hotel guests per day. pools, ans hot tub were nice. one sauna out of action with a smashed glass panel. one foot spa missing a plug so no couples chill out there.
Room was nice, but the air con was loud even when we had it switched off and door open. Clean and well presented, good amenities and the wife said the hair dryer was not too shabby."
"Breakfast food good.
Room OK but needed a clean especially the windows.
Staff OK but a bit slow over breakfast
The route to the Spa wS down some very steep stone narrow steps. Didn't make it to the spa as was concerned for my safety down the steps.
Overall very expensive"
"Nice room, kind staff, didn’t sleep well due to room was warm, as expected in July. Fan is provided, but ours was broken and staff could not provide a replacement. Would recommend you bring your own fan or owners have an extra on standby. Would stay again, just would bring my own fan."
"Hotel was beautiful and food was plentiful and enjoyable. Just needs more attention to housekeeping in our bedroom. Bath layer of soap grim on sides. Several trailing cobwebs from ceiling.. which spoilt an otherwise cheerful room which was a shame.."
"We booked the tweed which is a fantastic self contained room with a garden and barrel hot tub! That went down a treat for our mini moon!
The decor is always quirky and stunning! We love being minutes from the beach.
The only thing that lets it down is the supplementary cost for breakfast that used to be standard and felt like a real treat, it’s quite basic now and the breakfast coffee machine is awfully weak - the nespresso machine in the room is actually better.
Seat covers in the dinning room could do with being changed as the leather is cracked and not so comfy to sit on.
Overall loved our stay, like last time and we would come back again!"
