The building is historic. Staying in the King Suite felt like stepping back in time to the Victorian era, with modern amenities. The grounds were gorgeous. I was very pleased with the experience.
The grounds were beautiful. And the check-in process was very easy and efficient.
The only two problems we encountered was that our bed was broken and our bathroom sink was clogged. If that gets fixed, whoever comes there should have a very nice day.
Very nice place to stay good location nice old home well appointed . They do a cocktail hour from 5 to 6:30 pm with wine and cheese you get to meet other guest . Very friendly and helpful staff
I will stay again the next time I’m up in the Woodstock area. Excellent staff, well maintained, excellent restaurant. Nice grounds. Fire pit. Parking is challenging if you don’t want to park across the street.
If you are looking for a quiet B & B type experience, a little bit off the beaten path, then this could be a great option for you. Our room was on the second floor with a narrow wooden staircase which made it challenging to bring our multiple bags up to the room. We opted to pull a few necessities out of our main bag and just bring in a carry on, which worked fine.
The rooms are lovely and comfortably furnished. The bed was comfortable.
One of the "charms" of staying in a B&B type lodging is getting to meet your hosts. We went into town for dinner, so missed the complimentary wine and cheese offering. Other than that, all communication (check-in, questions and checkout) was entirely electronic and we did not see anyone throughout our one-night stay. That felt strange and impersonal to us, but perhaps our expectations were too high. I think we would have been happier in a more traditional hotel setting.
Wow! The Jackson is a gem. Such a peaceful, beautifully maintained, classic Vermont Inn. Both the Inn and the town of Woodstock brim with charm. The sitting parlors are inviting. My room on the 2nd floor was cozy. And the bed was awesome. Breakfast is not included in the lodging fee but was well worth the experience. And the grounds...! Make the most of your time at the Jackson to stroll the lovely, spacious lawn & gardens behind the Inn. I enjoyed a brief, morning, quiet-time sitting in an Adirondack chair overlooking a pond at the very back of the property. I never did connect with any of the staff during my stay. But still I had a lovely time. Thank you!
Easy check-in, we were texted a door code in advance. Very quaint and pretty Inn. Staff were very nice and accommodating, specifically Stacey. The on-premise restaurant is amazing, we ended up having dinner and breakfast there. Bartender, Rita was great.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
The room was as clean as could be and everyone we met was very friendly.
Beautiful, quiet inn. We stayed Saturday through Tuesday after the holidyas, so it was especially quiet, just what we wanted. Staff was incredibly attentive and engaging, rooms were unique and comfortable. I highly recommend The Jackson. We will be returning in the spring to see the grounds!
Friend of mine and I stayed overnight just to check out Vermont (I had always wanted to go there). We both LOVED this place. Very charming, lovely decor, and great food--especially at dinner. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. Would definitely recommend this place and return again in the future.
The Inn keeper is so sweet and keeps everything spotless! Sets out wine and cheese around the evening time, it was our first time staying at the Jackson Inn and won’t be our last.
The staff were incredible, so friendly and welcoming. Each night they served wine, cheese and crackers.
The overall atmosphere and hospitality was amazing. We hated to leave.
