Escape to our cozy Winthrop cabin on Dexter Pond

10/10 Excellent

"The cottage is wonderful! It had everything we needed and was extremely clean. The hosts were very nice and accommodating. Because of a family issue, we had to delay our arrival by one day. It was an issue that couldn’t be helped and we didn’t expect any kind of refund. To our surprise and delight they offered to extend our original departure by a day. This was so appreciated because we went to the area to spend time with our grandchildren and getting the day on the other end was wonderful. The owners didn’t need to do that but it shows they are kind, loving people and we thank them."

"We enjoyed our stay here. Alyssa at the front desk was really welcoming and helpful upon our arrival. Our room was clean and had everything we needed including a coffee maker, a large (dorm-sized) fridge with a REALLY good freezer, and a few toiletries. There was even a microwave in our room, although we did not need it. The beds were comfortable with tons of pillows. We were able to adjust the heat/cooling in the room and the curtain definitely blocked the light well. One thing I didn't notice when making the booking was that the hotel rooms are on outside hallways. We were two women traveling alone, but this was not a problem at all. We felt comfortable on the second floor. I am only mentioning it because I hadn't notice when I booked the room and wanted others to know it ahead of time. We had a nice dinner in the restaurant and there was live music, which was really fun. The bartender--I'm sorry I can't remember her name-- was very personable and excellent. For breakfast, we enjoyed the amazing spread downstairs. There was something for everyone. Speaking of that, there was a huge variety of people enjoying the hotel-- older folks, families with kids and families with teens. That speaks to how warm, welcoming and comfortable it was. Finally, the hotel was very easy to find, and there was ample parking."
