Pine Grove Cottage - Romantic Getaway on Private Lake

"Beautiful and peaceful escape on acres with no one else around. A friend and I did a mother daughter trip with our two girls who’ve been friends since infancy and are both heading off to separate colleges. This was a perfect getaway for them and for us! The cottage is charming and was very clean. We loved the sunroom and its view of the pond. The fresh eggs and blackberry jam provided for us in the fridge were a lovely surprise and we enjoyed them so much! The girls enjoyed taking the boat out for a quiet paddle around while we moms sat in the chairs and relaxed. The chickens and turkeys at the front of the property were a fun addition! Downtown Pittsburg is cute and charming, and we really enjoyed Lala Pops (ice cream and coffee). We also stumbled upon Factory Connection where we found so many brand name college clothes for our girls at bargain prices! Lake Bob Sandlin was a 20 minute drive away and we had a fun outing there at Big Al’s. Lovely property and getaway - we highly recommend it!"

"This is the cutest little property, just a couple-minute walk from the lake. It’s pet-friendly with a fully fenced backyard, and the surrounding views and sounds of nature are plentiful. Watching the sunset over the lake was absolutely incredible—it made for a perfect getaway for a few days.Pro tip: Be sure to stock up on food and drinks before you arrive. The nearest grocery store and restaurants are a 20-minute drive away, and the few dining spots nearby close early (most by 3:00 PM)."

"We had six adults and two teenage cousins, our grandchildren. Our children and their spouses are excellent cooks and enjoy cooking. The large and beautiful kitchen was perfect for our group! We had great meals, great wine, and cooked tenderloins on the outside grill one night. Our grandchildren enjoyed jumping off a high platform at the boathouse. Our 14 year old granddaughter caught a huge catfish on a blue fox bass lure (miracles happen at this place!). Even the grandparents caught blue gills. Watching the sunset from the covered deck at the back of the house with a favorite beverage was unbeatable. We only left the house twice in four days: once to pick up things we forgot to bring (Walmart in Mountain Pleasant) and to pick up Sea Doos we rented one day. It was a great four day get away for all, and two adults even worked some with great WiFi. The home could easily handle a larger group than ours."

"We had a wonderful, peaceful weekend! The house was clean, the views were beautiful, and our kids had a blast on the kayaks and paddle board. We would recommend for a weekend away to anyone looking for a peaceful escape!"

"My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful woodsy retreat. The house was very well appointed with all the things we needed for our stay. We enjoyed swimming at the lake there, and also visited a few parks in the area. Went into nearby quaint towns eating and shopping. The host was communicative and helpful when had a few questions right before check in. Highly recommend this property for anyone looking for wonderful escape into nature, peace and quiet, and amazing views."

"We had 14 people total, our grown daughters, their husbands, and grandkids, and the house was the perfect home base for our family vacation. It had everything we needed for a comfortable place to relax and sleep after full days of swimming, fishing off the dock, and taking evening walks through the quiet neighborhood where we watched so many deer and adorable bunnies.The location was also great for a day trip to Dallas to visit LEGOLAND, SEA LIFE Aquarium, and Rainforest Cafe, making it easy to enjoy both peaceful lake time and fun family adventures.The host, Kristan, was wonderful. She is very friendly, responsive, and quick to answer every question we had before and during our stay. We truly appreciated the hospitality and would definitely recommend this home to other families looking for a relaxing getaway at a great price. Hope we get to visit again!"
