A little disappointed given the rave score and reviews
Windstein is a beautiful quiet village and so many of the villages around there were very pretty. The gite was spotless, it has a very small kitchen but the lounge and the bedrooms are fine, we also loved playing pool.
On arrival we found the whole gite smelt very overpowering of drains, when we asked Lucienne we were told it was drains due to the heavy rain however it was there for our full 5 days and completely ruined our stay, if it was a hotel you would leave or at least change rooms but we were stuck. In addition to this the owners house is attached with a first floor door into your gite and the garden that is for your use is actually her garden and across the other side of the drive and in front of the main house, whilst she said we could use it with our dog we didn’t feel comfortable doing so. Had we known about both of these factors we wouldn’t have booked the property and we definitely wouldn’t return.

Sehr gemütlicher Aufenthalt
Wir waren im November zum Wandern mit Hund dort und es war sehr schön. Tolle Natur und Ruhe. Es gibt keine Strassenlaternen, es ist stockdunkel am Abend und man hört ein Käuzchen rufen, richtig schön. Das Haus ist sehr gemütlich und Frau Ranzenberger sehr nett und hilfsbereit.

Wunderschönes Haus in herrlicher Umgebung
Mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet Ferienhaus, das keinerlei Wünsche offen ließ. Madame Ranzenberger ist eine grandiose Gastgeberin. Vielen Dank für eine wunderbare Urlaubswoche, die wir sehr genossen haben. Tolle Wanderwege direkt vor der Haustür… unser Hund hat es geliebt!

Eine Reise wert
Unseren ersten Elsass-Urlaub in diesem liebevoll restaurierten Elsässer Häuschen haben wir sehr genossen. Alles ist sehr sauber, gepflegt und gemütlich. Direkt vor der Tür ein abwechslungsreiches, schönes Wandergebiet, viele seheswerte Burgruinen. Lucienne ist eine sehr freundliche und kundige Gastgeberin. Empfehlenswert!

Rust en Natuur
Op een paar stappen afstand van het bosrijke wandelgebied. Wel even rijden voor winkels of restaurants nadat tijdens de pandemie veel zaken gesloten zijn. Eigenaresse zeer behulpzaam en pand uitstekend schoon en netjes onderhouden. Fijn voor de rustzoekers.
