"this is a wonderful place to stay. it's a new rake on a classic hotel. the place is full of art from locals and the staff encourages you to walk through the hotel like an art gallery. breakfast was excellent and the room is very modern and nice. I will book this brand every chance I get"
Warm & Inviting Lakeside Retreat, Private, Tranquil Picture Perfect Setting

"This camp (any property on a lake in Maine is called a camp) is amazing. Starting with the astounding view as you drive in to the fact that the camp is right on the water and the main house (we didn't use the very nice-looking suite above the garage) was spotless, modern and extremely comfortable. The pond is wonderfully quiet with only a handful of camps on one side of it. Communication with the owner was easy (and he's very friendly and clearly cares about his guests' experience). All in all, I highly recommend this place but will note that if your party includes anyone with mobility issues, the stairs in the house are steep. It wasn't a problem for us, but it's something to be aware of if you are traveling with elderly folks. The extra amenities such as the incredible deck, tons of firewood, a wood BBQ, horseshoe pit, kayaks and canoe, not to mention sitting areas on the dock all add to this camp. I had a couple of family members visit and they couldn't believe how nice it was. Very grateful for the opportunity to stay here."

"Fantastic late-fall stay, even with a rainy day! Very cozy and two nights by the fire pit listening to the Loons - peaceful! Hosts were excellent at communicating and the cabin was in excellent condition - and spotless! Would very much like to stay again sometime!"

"Having never been here before, I was surprised by how easy they made it to find the property. The driveway down to the house is NOT paved but safe to drive down. It’s not steep or slick. In the winter months however , I would make sure 4 wheel drive is an option. The cabin is, I’m not kidding you, perfect. It has kayaks, two docks to fish from. A sandy area near the dock to go into the water without having to worry about a weedy bottom. The view is amazing on the water when the morning fog clears. It’s quite literally like something from a movie. The host was not overbearing like some can be. The house rules are easy to both find and follow. The firewood was not something I knew about until AFTER my trip was over. Only because the magnet holding the posted rules on the fridge was in the way. Boy was I embarrassed. I was buying firewood the whole weekend haha. 10/10 would recommend and stay here again. I’m going to make it a tradition to come here yearly with my boys."

"Was extremely pleased with everything about the property, the cleanliness and our reception by Mary and family. We were somewhat prepared about what we would find as we watched Maine Cabin Masters, season 9 episode 1 where we watch the restoration of the property. But seeing it in person was amazing. Words actually fail me. Mary even went so far as to have a fresh baked apple pie (and a bottle of wine) waiting on us when we arrived. Anyone staying in this area should visit the Apple Shed Kitchen and Bakery in Readfield. Everything we tried there was beyond description. Glad we don’t live closer because I would drive a hundred miles to go there. About the home. Everything was ready to move in. The kitchen was well stocked and she even had the makings for S’mores. Every dish, pot or pan you could need or want was there. Heating was no problem with an HVAC. Supplemental heating with an antique pot belly stove added a nice romantic tone. Games and DVD’s (100?) were plentiful. It was a comfortable home. Fishing gear was available as were canoes and a paddle boat. The fishing was good and listening to the loons were fantastic The outside fireplace was large and seasoned wood abundantBottom line, we highly recommend this property for your consideration. We also hope to be back in the future, but will fly in. Getting there, driving around, and heading back to Western North Carolina was about 3500 miles. But it was well worth."
Cozy, peaceful cabin retreat with hot tub

"This is a lovely place that seems like new. The kitchen was very well stocked including lots of spices and coffee, etc. It wasn't warm enough for us to sit on the front porch, which we would have enjoyed. We loved having the hot tub. It's off the beaten path, and we were glad that we'd brought all the food we needed. The bed was comfortable. We recommend it as a nice getaway."
