  • Welcome to Firefly on Front! Located on sought after South Front Street, this whimsical second floor flat of the historic Fowler Pastis duplex is a reflection of the eclectic sensibilities Wilmington is known for. Just a few blocks from the Riverwalk, restaurants and shopping, this two bedroom plus den is the ideal home base whether in town for an event or just wanting a quiet escape where you can explore the quaint streets and architecture of downtown Wilmington. We provide the finest amenities (yes, even down to the TP) but with a chill vibe inside this comfy, creative space.

    Firefly on Front is an easy walk to both the Castle Street District and the buzz of downtown’s restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, bars and shopping. It’s also super convenient for music lovers in town for a concert at Live Oak, Greenfield Lake or one of the local spots like Rusty Nail or Live at Ted’s. More of a beach person? Great! The beach is just 10 miles away - a 20 minute drive (give or take).

    Don’t feel like going out? Not a problem. Firefly on Front is stocked with plenty of books and games. Like to cook? Whip something up in the fully stocked kitchen with a gas stove and dine at the table or crash in the lounge to enjoy some entertainment on the 55” Samsung Frame TV. Or eat in bed (King in The Late Checkout Room or Queen in The Green Room) while binging your latest fav programming. We won’t tell. The Garden Room (den) is technology free and perfect for curling up with a good book or just daydreaming while watching the horse drawn carriages go by.

    Please Note: This unit is the second floor of a duplex with stair access only. Owners prefer maximum occupancy of four persons, but exceptions may be made for people with children. This VRBO was in the perfect location, easily walkable to downtown restaurants, shops, coffee shops. The house is well decorated and on a very picturesque street. Loved that it’s a historic house. Will be staying here again when I’m back in Wilmington!

This property is absolutely charming. It’s lovely old construction beautifully renovated and decorated - spacious with tall ceilings and big windows. It was immaculately clean, well-furnished, and comfortable. The host was thoughtful and attentive. She provided many “extras,” including a basket of snacks, a well-stocked coffee and tea station, books, games, and multiple very nice TV’s. (You do need to be able to go up one flight of steps; as the property is on the second floor.) Parking by permit on the street was easy and convenient. The location was excellent - it was easy for us to walk to downtown Wilmington, including many shops and restaurants and the beautiful riverwalk along the Cape Fear. In addition, the historic district in which the space is located is gorgeous. We also had easy access to major roads and highways. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would very highly recommend this property.
